Amazing location - we had the room directly at the beach and could see the sunrise from.our bed. We literally lived at the beach.
The staff was amazingly friendly and caring and very authentic.
We had a wonderful relaxing week - probably the most relaxing in our live!
The area is not very touristy which is something we enjoy a lot. After a week we felt we knew the village :-)
Running at the beach in the morning is a great experience (3km length of the beach) - followed by one of the best massages I ever had (in the hotel) and the vacation was perfect.
We would definitely come again!

The Paradise Beach Resort and Spa in Uroa is a self-contained area - ideal if you just want to stay somewhere that has everything you need. There are "external" excursions available if you do want to see outside the resort. At the time I went (May) it was not crowded at all, and the weather was superb - the rainy season had passed fortunately, and sun was present all day every day. Lovely private sandy beach, rooms are also good, and well looked after by the daily clean service, including an evening "mosquito" spray visit. Food was also good - nothing too elaborate, but adequate, and plenty of it. All in all a great place to stay.

There is no restaurant.
There is no restaurant. The WIFI did not function, the tv did not function. There was no hot water. The staff didn't respond to any issues just laughed. They could not even provide a receipt. I was over charged and am still seeking a refund and they tried to take money on arrival having said they had taken funds in advance. There were people walking around with 14 inch knives on their belts. The hotel forced guests to wear irremovable wrist bands as if Alzheimer patients. The local beach is unpleasant, which is rare for Zanzibar, which is full with beautiful beaches. There were a group of women sat outside my window all day neither guest nor staff. If you risk booking please be advised that this is a remote location, if there is no scope to go elsewhere you will be compelled to stay. There are many other wonderful establishments on this island catering for all manner of needs and pockets.

Its about and hour and a half from Zanzibar city.
Its about and hour and a half from Zanzibar city.
Nothing much around we found a local restaurant and a grocery about 20min driving from the place we stayed.
You get very small local restaurants on the way and small local shops which we didn't stop and have look.
People are friendly and helpful.
Get your own alcohol from Zanzibar its cheaper.
Don't carry alcohol from Tanzania to Zanzibar as its prohibited but you can buy it from Zanzibar.
Unlike Paje where you get hotels bars restaurants shopping and activities, Uroa is very quiet and mainly has beach hotels.

The hotel is a resort and has everything you could need. We don't bother going in to Uroa as there is no need. We come for the hotel not the nearby town. Beaches are lovely nd people generally very friendly.

The sea and the air in Uroa are just fantastic.
The sea and the air in Uroa are just fantastic. A small danger though - you can meet a jellyfish in the sea and get painfully stinged.
A small walk away one can also find some local shops and some fruit sellers with ripe pineapples and watermelons.. ..and you can buy local sightseeing or dolphin watching trips either right at the hotel or just in beach. Cold drinks are available right at the hotel. So a wonderful place for just a relaxation.. ..if you want to often visit Zanzibar City shops, market, nightlife and sights, then it might be just a bit far.
I would stay there any time again...

This is not a hotel, it's a house at the beach (!), run by a man that is manager, service personel and almost everything else (there are two maids that clean the rooms daily and cook the food).
If you're looking for an AirBnB-like atmosphere, this place is recommendable yet expensive. Uroa beach is not recommendable as there are much nicer ones in Zanzibar.
I've booked room at this hotel and one day before my arrival I've got a message via Booking saying that, there is a renovation and the hotel is relocating me an another hotel "which is just a few km away". The few km means that, across the bay is about 3-4 km, but on road is more than 40 km...at a totally different location.
Be careful with this hotel because even they said, there is a renovation, they still accepts booking to this facility.
At least I could cancel my reservation free of charge...but this is the minimum.
spacious clean big room with separate sitting and kitchen, lots of thought full details, showing this place has a soul of the owners whos around for pampering you, lots of value for money few minutes walk from the beach, you reach across the street in Uroa beach resort with lots of pools, of you as outsite guest register at reception and use their bar and restaurants which are good and low budget. Paulo whos italian and her husband realy make you feel like home.
I have traveled a lot during my life, never liked the vibe of most of the hotels, but this one litteraly felt like Home, everything was perfect since our arrival, the manager was so kind, took care of us and suggest us some excursions with a really reasonnable prices, that turned out to be one of the best experiences i have ever had. All the staff were caring and welcoming, can't thank them enough for all the stuff they did during our trip. Thank you Nautilus.
Disclaimer! A 10 rating will probably never be had by me without paying a lot. So, i rate this a solid 7, which in my book, is good to really good.
Hosts were fantastic. Zanzibar was not what i was expecting, and Kau, Shany and Pilly really made my time there more enjoyable.
A/C! It's a must for northerners in the Zanzibar climate.
Food on demand.
Beds were hard. But, they were high-density foam of some sort. I liked the mattresses, but some may not.
The hotel was beautiful. Both swimming pools were amazing. The buffet restaurant was great, food was good, with lots of options at every meal. The breakfast in the a la carte restaurant was great too but only went there once as the service was very slow. The staff was very friendly. I kept missing the hotel activities even though there were plenty of them.
The rooms were confy, i liked how it was decorated.
This is a wonderful hotel. The staff is outstanding, the rooms are very comfortable, beds great, AC works fantastic. Ocean is literally steps away along with a beautiful pool. Breakfast was good (plenty of options for every diet), dinners were good ( loved the vegetable. Masala). Bathrooms were outstanding with tubs and shower and Western toilets. All the staff are very nice and helpful.
A great stay ,our stay was absolutely delightful ,good staff from restaurant to kitchen ,clear envirnoment ,wonderfuL hotel far from crowd, the location is beautiful, peacefull and friendly,
special thanks to Dainess,Oscar,Frank,Joseph, and Patrick for the attentiveness,we are highly recommend it for anyone who want to come to Zanzibar
As we visited during low-season, the hotel wasn't busy at all, and we were made to feel at home. We went swimming in the sea as the hotel is on the beach. The restaurant at the hotel was great. We were also fasting during Ramadan and the kitchen staff very kindly arranged food for our early morning meal instead of breakfast.
Staff was exceptional, really great view and perfect hotel for a peaceful weekend. The breakfast was nice with fresh juice, fruits, eggs and toasts. The dinner served has a great choice and it's lovely to eat right on the ocean.
I can highly recommend it!
Beautiful B&B in a nice, little village. Nearby resorts offer great food and nightly shows. You’ll require a taxi to get to other parts of the island. Excellent place to stay to relax in Zanzibar!
The hotel is good, has a great pool and right in front of the beach. The staff is so friendly and always available to assist at any time.
The facilities are good. Food was okay at the restaurant.
Very nice hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the location and the facilities are perfect. Me and my wife enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We surely come back next year
The hotel has 3 big swimming pools. The room we have booked has sunbeds in the balcony and it was in front of the swimming pool so it was like it was a private swimming pool.
My go-to place to stay in Uroa. The staff make this hotel fabulous. Can't wait to visit again. Everything is always great, facilities, food, atmosphere and environment.
I love this hotel. We go there twice a year, every year as our kids adore the wide choice of delicious food and all the activities organised by the animation crew.
