Everything was perfect! The staff extremely nice and helpful, the food was very tasty, there was every day a different choice freshly cooked. The room was calm, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located directly on the beach and has a big beautiful garden with many different relaxing places to chose to spend the day. As an addition are cute bushbabies living in the garden :) we really enjoyed our stay very much and would go back again any time!

The hotel has a beautiful tropical garden, and a very nice and quiet beach near to it. The room was basic but comfortable, with nice view to the garden. The staff is really nice. I appreciate that I could stay longer in the room on my last day, as my flight was late in the evening, that helped a lot. It’s not a luxury hotel, but still a beautiful place to stay and relax. The area is quiet, so only come here, if you want to relax only.

Pongwe is an isolated beach, at low tide the sea is very far away and, even at high tide, it is very shallow - you cannot swim. Kiwengwa beach, next door (10 minutes by car) is much better, more lively, with many shops and good hotels.

There is not much to do in the local area other than visit other hotel resorts. We did visit a local school to make a donation and I would advise bringing something with you to donate e.g notebooks, sweets, money

Small remote holiday village with the white sand beach but not having good beach maintenance (seaweed, some dirt on the beach). Little bit far from anything in Zanzibar (far from Stone city and airport, far from spectacular Nungwi and Paje beach). No bars, restaurants, shops and infrastructure outside the holiday resort due to remote location and low density of tourists.

At first sight you can say....what to do here ?....no shops, just some local fruits selling points, no crowded areas, less traffic than anywhere but more nature than anywhere around. It's exactly the opposite comparing with Paje. If you need a quiet, family friendly, uncrowded spot.....ask for Pongwe. And if you want to understand why I'm saying these....just go on Pongwe beach when low tide is there.

I did not visit Pongwe town.
I did not visit Pongwe town. I stayed in a luxury boutique hotel north of the town as I like a quiet holiday. The only problem was the tide leaving an unattractive expanse of muddy rocks. The hotel's pontoon helped with access to the sea when the tide was high.

The accommodation and restaurant in Weavers Lodge was outstanding and the beach was idyllic. The tide tends to be out until about 3pm (July/Aug stay) and there are some sharp rocks - if your feet are particularly fragile, water shoes are a good idea. We cycled to the next village - an enjoyable afternoon trip. Very friendly locals.
-The hotel is really small, with only six rooms, therefore the privacy was greatly valued, considering we traveled for our honeymoon.
-The attention from the staff to every small detail was impressive, making sure our stance was as comfortable as possible.
-The food from the restaurant was delicious, and every day they would change the breakfast and snack options.
-Before arriving, Margarita responded to all of our inquiries in a timely manner and once we reached the property, Frank made sure we were always taken care of.

Excellent location for quiet vacations. The tide change the view all the time. The villas are spacious, well equipped and modern designed.
The sea view villas gives you the privacy that you want.
The food was excellent , the chef overcome our expectations.
Service was really good. The free massage in spa was very nice and the girls really polite.
We didn't want to go out of the hotel area because it was perfect.
So many thing I loved:
- Late check-in after midnight with an free of charge upgrade to an ocean view room
- Lovely place to be with so wunderful people
- Best and most friendly staff ever seen
- Best dinner I had in my life (Swahili Night with a 6 course menu) - just amazing
- I even stayed more than I day as the only guest in the entire hotel - once in a lifetime experience
- ...
I stayed as a single person for an overnight visit. It was the perfect size and space for what I needed. Very clean and comfortable. I originally booked a single, but was upgraded to a double. I think it would have definitely on the small side if I were sharing that space it another person, though. The hotel staff was very kind and accommodating.
The food was amazing. The place was really clean and well kept. I loved how intimate it was - it probably has twenty rooms max so felt quaint and boutiquish. It was also right by the water so meals are eaten with a view of the water and you can chill all day on the sunbeds right in front of the hotel and in front of the ocean. Really beautiful
Very good hotel with a very good location. It was perfect. Really the lodge rooms are extraordinary. The view on the waves is great. The food is very good, they renew the menu every day with fresh products. And the place is really beautiful. It was a very good stay. Ultra exotic, bravo!
I spent a week here. Wonderful place to unplug. Extremely beautiful, calm beach. Excellent food. Professional, helpful management and friendly staff. Clean, spacey rooms. They did everything they can to make me feel comfortable during my stay. Not for those looking for a party.
Just one word, perfect.
staff was the best you can ask for.
place is beautiful with real Zanzibar vibes.
location was peaceful with very nice beaches.
rooms are clean and spacious.
food was delicious and pretty varied (except for breakfast).
This hotel was perfect. Everything is clean and beach is beautiful. Extremely calm because only 7 rooms. Restaurant is delicious. Owner Natalia is extremely nice and staff is very efficient. We highly recommend.
This little hotel has wonderful staff who are very hardworking and go out of their way to make you feel welcome! we enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to travellers interested in visiting pongwe.
The beachfront location is nice. Feels very secluded, which was a welcome respite. Most of the staff were welcoming and the food / entertainment was enjoyable. We also really enjoyed the massage!
the big room and the palm trees are the best reasons to relax and enjoy the stay. the hotel has access to the beach of pongwee.
the service and the staff are very nice.
