We had a fantastic stay (5 nights) at Lala Land Lodge. Frida and Ben are the lovely, super friendly and chilled couple who run this small family eco-lodge located in beautiful surroundings right in front of the sea. The staff is ultra nice and helpful. We especially loved Hawa with her beautiful energy and professionalism. She is pure sunshine. It is a place that is especially suited for those who seek peace and tranquility as it is a bit secluded. We had delicious and very nutritious breakfasts included with our stay and the rest of the food is excellent and the portions generous. The pool is a mix of salt water and fresh water which we found way better than chlorine pools. Note that for the showers and sink it’s the same. But you are provided with buckets of fresh water to rinse. Basically, we highly recommend Kizimkazi and Lala Land Lodge.

The staff and the owner are all so accommodating. It's vibrant and so beautiful the surrounding areas with trees, bushes, fruit plants and a great swimming pool.
The rooms were gorgeous and suited everyone in our groups needs. Myself and Alex in a double.room with a private shower room and toilet.
Our friends were in the backpackers area which was also really good and had curtains.yo.sectopm off the sleeping areas for privacy and a shared bathroom/ shower room.
It's not slap in the middle of a busy section of the island so it's lovely and quiet at night. They provide breakfast with your stay and the food we had.from their restaurant was delicious..

I had an amazing stay at Aya Beach Resort! The Aya Beach Team was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The new chef's dishes were delicious and a highlight of our trip. Outstanding hosts at Mandarin, feels just like home! We had a pleasant 2-nights stay and it was total relaxation for us. The ambience was great, very clean, all the staff were great, Chef Amir made the best of dishes (breakfast was also top notch) and extra stars for the GM Mr. Hany! There are different activities at Mandarin but unfortunately, we were only there to basically eat, sleep and enjoy the beach though I am sure they would be just as great. If you are looking for a great affordable place in Zanzibar then Mandarin Resort it is!

It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute.
Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. We look forward to meeting you all again!

It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.

The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways.
There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching.
There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price.
Hardly any touting which is nice;
3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

Most relaxing place I know on the planet. Locally built, owned an run lodge in a not very developed part of Zansibar. Not for people who wants parties and beach life, but if you're after beautifull surrondings, friendly environment and comfy, relaxing days this place is highly recommended. Food selection is a little limited, room standard is not european, and its about as remote as you get on Zansibar, but none of this matters to me.
The Hotel itself is really beautiful, a tiny place but we really loved it. The Beach is not as long as at the North side for example but still possible for a short walk and the water is clear. And the hotel is perfectly locatated for an amazing sunset. We really enjoyed watching it every single day. The Breakfast and Dinner was very tasty. We really liked and they also had several options.
-the location of the hotel is very nice, calm and relaxing private beach from a few minutes walking distance from the hotel (although the way to the hotel from the airport is very long and the overall road conditions are very poor)
-the food is very good, lot of choices of international and local dishes, the restaurant staff is very nice and helpful
From the beginning to the very end everything exceeded our expectations. They arranged an airport pick up and drop off. Arranged for us to go to Nungwi for the day and also the Rock restaurant. The staff were always so friendly and accommodating. The food and cocktails are really good. Really nice location right on a beautiful white sand beach.
Everything was just too splendid.From the welcome, golf cart ride to the rooms, the food was beyond amazing, and the view was to die for. Housekeeping and their creative towel art everytime after cleaning.Very quite and classy hotel. I'll definitely be booking this place again soon. PERFECT FOR HONEYMOONERS.
huge rooms super comfortable. amazing bathroom. the common pool is very nice to swim and play and spend lazy afternoons. the acrylic wall on the pool is good fun. the beach is way better than expected, and it is private, no one selling stuff. super beautiful. cheeky monkeys jumping around the resort.

This place is paradise: so quiet and peaceful, with nice hosts and good equipements. Sunsets from the fishermen village of Kizimkazi are wonderful. And bonus: our hosts' cooking is amazing. I can only recommend to stay there!

Beach was nice to explore with kids. There's lot of crabs and other stuff , especially in the evening. So torch and surf shoes is highly recommended. During high tide you can swim. Nice view and garden.
There was 9 puppies and still they except the Cre about that we found 3 kittens with out mom 🫶🏼 every single one is extremely lovely who is the part of the family in this hotel..
