The location is exceptional--beautiful spot up the mountain with amazing views of the sunset/sunrise. Our hosts could not have been more gracious and helpful. We had a wonderful stay: peaceful, relaxing with an amazing spread for breakfast the next morning. The staff were very helpful and quick in helping my friends to change their rooms due to drainage issue.
From previous reviews, we understood that we had to leave our room key behind and were totally fine with that.
They were apologetic about the water heater, but we still had access to warm water, so it wasn't a big issue.

This place is truly exceptional: Combines a beautiful view over the mountains, lake and distant ocean with a distinct NZ or UK-feeling of design, a nice romantic Hobbit-garden - and sounds of Nature all around. Good location for relax from city-life, with friends or as single-traveler. The owners were friendly and very helpful, provided a very good veggie dinner and breakfast on request. Located closely to the hiking-areas of XiaoWuLai (Ancient Trees) and other scenic spots.

Sanxia is a quiet town and there are alot of amenities around the hotel and the Estate. The bad thing is, it is too far away from the City, you need to take about 30 to 45 mins depending on the traffic. Wifi of Bear hotel is not too good hence you have to be prepared when you working, the Wifi can be disconnected easily. Bear hotel staff are well trained, pleasant and helpful. Other than that, Sanxia is a nice and quiet town to visit and they have other places to visit like Sanxia old street.
