Zonguldak was a random pick for me, just to experience...
Zonguldak was a random pick for me, just to experience something different. The town is a former coal mining town with a port and is rather run-down and not at all inviting. But, it does have some small gems to offer. A trip to the lighthouse and the restaurant there was really nice, the caving experience was rather good, really nice staff. We went to the coal mine museum and visit to the mine, I liked the experience and both the caves and the mines were very good value. The coal mine museum would benefit from a bit of a tidy-up in the grounds and some additional external seating be made available for visitors while they wait for their tour time. However, very few people speak or understand English very well which is a big down side. If Zonguldak wants to attract visitors from further a field then some effort needs to be put in in encouraging locals and staff to improve their English, compared to the level of English speaking in Istanbul Zonguldak is quite lacking at languages. Zonguldak make for a good visual vista at night as it's nicely lit-up and the pristine Mosque really adds to this vista. There is a good shopping area up at the western side of the town next to the Dedeman Hotel. It's a long drive to Zonguldak from Istanbul circa 5hrs and in order for it to worth visiting improvements need doing in visitor attractions and language. We dined in a couple of places like the Lighthouse restaurant, great for a sunset dinner, nice westerly view over the Black sea, and the Dedeman Hotel roof top restaurant, that's where there is a lovely night time vista of the town.
friendly staff, great location. Rooftop restaurant food good and good value. beautiful views from viewing deck especially sunset. Breakfast, excellent. Reception staff speak and understand English. As a bonus the hotel is located in a beautiful town that is not over exploited for tourism. A definite highly recommended place to stay.
It was BEST of everything. The staff, chefs, receptionist were everyone was so friendly and taking care of you with warmly^^ i loved it so much and the rooms also really good new and comfortable as well, breakfast was amazing, delicious. Very well recommended place absolutely. If you ever come to Zonguldak choose this place for sure
The hotel has incredible view of sunset, room is spacious and clean, Wi-Fi is good, breakfast is fresh. Their restaurant has a lot of choices and very reasonable price. Food is super good. Stuffs are very friendly, especially the lady name kasmon (?) who is really nice, always trying to help.
We like the hotel and view. But the steps weren't made for seniors. We stay until April 2nd. My husband got sick and ended up in the hospital. Because of the steps, we had to move to another hotel.
If you can reimburse us on April 2nd night, stay. Would be greatly appreciated.
The hotel is set some way out of town but the rooms have balconies and sea views. The room was comfortable and clean, we ate in the restaurant in the evening rather than driving into town and the food was good. Breakfast was equally enjoyable.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a beautiful view and delicious breakfast. Very friendly employee's. Near the hotel is a beach, not so clean, but small and sweet. The centrum is also near the hotel.
