I can't give any advice for what to do and see there as I was a guest of Dumpster Doggies - a small group caring for the many stray dogs in the area and spent most of my time visiting the new new shelter they have built and travelling to sites at dumps or in the mountains to feed and medicate the strays. But we did go one night to a restaurant high above the city which had a beautiful view over the city and the lit up castle on the hill opposite. Unfortunately I don't know the name of it. The food was delicious. I hope to go back to Kastamonu with time to explore it and the Black Sea coast area.

Nice hotel in ancient town. We completely immersed in the atmosphere of the ancient town. Hospitality of all people in the hotel is at a high level. Everybody was friendly and helpful not with us only, but also with our pug. Breakfast was amazing, better than in 5 star hotel. This place is highly recommended to fill the place, history and local culture.
