The villa itself is spectacular! We loved our stay there and all the staff were so accommodating and friendly. The view is also amazing, facing off the Andaman sea. The bed was comfy, I had a good night sleep over the 4 nights.

I liked everything. It is right on the beach, the rooms are large and there was a pool right outside my balcony door. The pool is very large and only about a metre deep so is great for families. The resort allowed 3 x 10 year old Thai boys to use the pool on 2 occasions. (children of my Thai friends on the island). The breakfast was very extensive. Great for early morning and evening beach walks. Koh Yao Yai is one of the lesser known islands, only 30 minutes by speedboat from Bang Rong Pier on Phuket. There is no night life but if you fancy just relaxing this is as good a place as any. The price was well within my budget.

The pool was really good, with a beautiful view out to the sea (across the grounds of the hotel). The room also had a nice view, with a lovely balcony which we used a lot.
The hotel and room were nice and clean. The size of the room was superb.

Lovely couple that own the bungalows, they are so friendly and helpful! The bungalow seemed newly built, it was very clean and spacious. Had everything you needed! AC was really good and shower pressure. There was a fridge, kettle and they topped up your water and towels. Little balcony area to sit on. And if you are lucky you will get a visit on your balcony from their cute cat!! Also the place was so tranquil and quiet, set in nature, really relaxing.
Location is great, as its so central, by scooter you don't have to drive more than 10- 20 mins to get to either side of the island and to beaches. I think the most we drove is 20 mins to a beach. You can rent a scooter for 250baht a day. No issues with the scooter. And they also offered taxi service to our pier when we left which was 300 baht.
We loved our stay, we didn't want to leave, we would definitely come back again!

The food was excellent value for money, both breakfast and dinner. The host was so lovely, really helpful and kind. She organised a long tail boat trip for us to Hong Island and also took us and collected us from the pier. We had a fabulous day thanks to her. She also organised for us to have a massage in our room. She always went above and beyond to help.

A great island, just like other Thai islands used to be before they became too busy with large hotels. Quiet beaches and friendly locals.
The relatively long speed boat journey from Phuket will prevent large groups from visiting: a real positive! Worth taking a trip around the island to discover how the local economy still works.

Lovely place to stay in the middle of the island.
Lovely place to stay in the middle of the island. It has just reopened, so I was the first guest and treated very well!
So great to hear the sound of Nature at night, looking at the stars. If you're lucky, you'll see fireflies.
The place is simple, you get everything you need, the beds are big, confortable, a good night sleep! The hostess is very nice and will help you with everything you need.
Many cats around as the hostess look after them with so much love. Glad to support a business where part of the money goes for animal care.
Thank you! I loved my stay.

We loved our villa. We had a private pool.
We loved our villa. We had a private pool. The resort had 2 more pools, one was infinity and the other one on the beach level. But we didn’t feel the need to go there because of the private pool that we had with the villa.
We had dinner in Chantara restaurant every single night that we stayed the fool was delicious. We eat halal and they provided halal food.
Overall the experience was so good that we are planning a longer trip next year with the whole family.

Exceptional. Amazing. An experience we will never forget.
Exceptional. Amazing. An experience we will never forget. The hotel is so underrated and the pics on the different websites don't give any credit to this place. It's a paradise. All guests we met were had the same review. Rooms are amazing and comfortable. The resort is like a nature reserve. The infinity pool great with spectacular views, you never want to leave. The beach has hammocks. Breakfast and restaurant were lovely. The attention to details was certainly clear. You can also get luck with game viewing (we saw a Water monitor!) - Paradise! Recommended to everyone and anyone.

A great island to vacation on, people all over the island are very nice, you can rent a motorcycle and travel all over the island. Very cheap prices, an excellent restaurant called Gala, the best on the island and in the Krabi area.
We couldn't ask for more! Noi is super nice and genuine, always made sure that everything was perfect. The bungalow was really cosy and spacious with a small terrace on the back and pleasant patio on the front. Above all it was sorrounded by a lush and beautiful garden. Location was also perfect: right in the middle of Ko Yao Yai so very comfortable to visit the whole island. Last but not least we were provided an unexpected delicious breakfast with local fruit a small local deserts. Do not hesitate to book here!
This hotel is the best in the area, I feel I can say this as I have stayed in another top hotel in the area and the Royal yao yai is the best as has such a personal feel, the staff are accommodating, friendly and professiona but also have such great sense of humour. I stayed in the Royal room and its perfect, so clean, modern and beautiful white sheets. Bed and pillow so comfortable. View beautiful. Thank you to all staff at the Royal yao yai Hotel.
Absolutely great place! Quiet, very tasty breakfasts, private beach and awe-inspiring sunsets! For me the best place to stay on Koh Yao Yai if you like a bit of luxury, but not overpriced and with a bit of local spice. We rented scooter on northern part of island (cheaper then closer to hotel). Also - small gym, but almost always empty. If you need to do cardio or small workout - great. A place to chill. We'll be back for sure. Can't wait :)
The best of Esmeralda View resort was the staff. Bond the resort manager was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great (specially the sweat dishes and the fried fish). Rooms were spacious and clean with ac and amazing views to the sea. WiFi didn't reach our room however, was very in the common areas. We did a few private tours organised by the resort and they were the best thing of our Thailand trip. 100% recommend.
Newly build, good facility and beaches. very suitable for family with children. and couples too. Friendly and helpful stuff. very delicious breakfast with lots variety. family pool and beaches are awesome.
beach is clean and can swim, water is clean. sands powdery.
ask the reception or check the tide and jelly fish season. best hotel on the island.
The breakfast was delicious. The dinners at the bar & grill were OUTSTANDING, especially Steak/Pasta night. The pools and happy hour was great. Cannot say enough great things about this place. They booked us the best private tour I did in Thailand. The staff was so accommodating and I LOVED it. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Hillside resort is by far the best place i have ever stayed. The view from the villas is amazing and to then have a private pool, spa robes, jacuzzi bath and all the products smelled amazing. Nice touches with welcome drinks, cold towels and fruit. Staff were brilliant and made the stay so relaxing. Hope to return one day
There wasn’t a lot I didn’t like about this beautiful off beaten place it’s owned by a small family mom made you breakfast everyday brings it to your door, it’s so quiet and fresh water was clean and we got hot water, there’s 2 7/11 in Koh Yao yai the restaurants there are very good you will need a bike on this island
Amazing!!! The family who run the resort go above and beyond for you, they even transported our luggage to the pier after checking out and organised everything. It felt like a homestay and they treat you like family. We stayed in a bungalow and it was perfect, no complaints at all! Best stay in Thailand
The views are sublime. We had an ocean facing pool villa and the sunsets were some of the best we've experienced in Thailand.
The beach is lovely and overal the hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere. The location and views are the main attraction and worth the stay.
The bungalow was one of the best bungalow we stayed during many visits to Thailand. Great view, very clean, nice balcony and very good location. The owner is super helpful and hosted us as we would be a part of the family :) thank you so much.
The Bungalow was really nice with the best bathroom on our whole trip. we had a bungalow without swimming pool but could use the swimming pool of the neighbourng resort for free. Personnel spoke exceptionally good English. Dinner was ok.
One of my favourite resorts in Thailand. Beautiful setting and scenery. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even upgraded me as I had stayed before, which I really appreciated. Also enjoyed the choice of music they played. :)
