Always use a google translator when communicating with the locals as their English is not as advanced in other states eg. Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya. Its very easy to get around using Grab. The places of interest are actually nearby each other. I recommend ASEAN Night Market for Clothing shopping instead of Lee Gardens night market as they have few varieties. Lee Gardens is very good for street food and most massage outlets are located around Lee Gardens. The food served in restaurants are served fresh, tasty and cheap. You should go for it. For Malls, you can visit Central Hatyai which is huge and comes with a big Game Centre.

HatYai sadly has become way too touristy - and specially for Malaysian tourists.
The street food is no longer traditional Thai street food, it caters for Malaysians. You get nasi lemak, ramli's burger etc which is not something you'd want when in Thailand.

Ideal for slower pace trip.
Ideal for slower pace trip. Lots of vendors in Hatyai can speak Chinese and Malay, very tourist oriented.
Can easily find Halal food as there are numbers of Thai Muslim living there.
Massage heaven for all too~ I liked it when some of the massage shops provide hair wash service.

My favourite place was definitely the Floating Market.
My favourite place was definitely the Floating Market. Samila Beach was quite nice even though it was a bit far (you need a car to go there). The mall (Central Hat Yai) was okay, nothing special about it. The ground floor has food stalls, which is good. Hat Yai village was quite disappointing because there's not that many food stalls there but the food was okay. It was easy to get around Hat Yai because we went there by car. But on the second night, we were devastated because we did not get to go to ASEAN night market because it was closed (not sure why). Every Monday, Greenway is closed so that was okay. We ended up going to Lee Garden Night Market. It was full of people (might be because the other two night markets were closed). Nothing was special about that place. It was next to a mall. As usual, 7E is a must. We end up visiting 7E 3 days in a row, that's how much we like it. I would avoid the days when the night markets are closed. So plan your trip wisely so that you get to experience every bit of it. We will definitely be coming back to Hat Yai for a better experience!

It's worth spending couple days as ir a good location for Air Train and Bus onwards destinations .
Good food, night market excellent one hout Thai massage 200 baht💆♀️.
Avengers gym very well equipped abd 5 minutes from hostel
Fuss-free check-in and check-out and host, Ms Ing, was prompt in her response. The location of the homestay is away from the busy central area, yet it is conveniently located to all the amenities like Lee Gardens night market, Gim Yong market, clock tower, etc. Loved the little kitchenette with free coffee and tea. Rooms were very clean, functioning water heater and air-conditioning, and there were towels provided. I highly recommend staying with Kong-Khong Homestay, would most certainly stay there again on my next trip.
1. The room size - for the price we paid, the room was considered quite spacious
2. Friendly and helpful staff - they didn't make any issues when we asked for extra pillows. The receptionist gave some recommendations on where we could go
3. Covered parking space
4. Location - not so close to everything else but walking distance and could easily get tuk2. A lot of halal restaurants at walking distance. Lee Garden was 10 mins away by foot
5. Self service laundry place just opposite the hotel. 30 baht for 13kg machine
The hotel located in good location and easy traveling by car to everywhere in Hat Yai with sufficient parking space both indoor and outdoor. Staffs were super helpful and friendly. They explained necessary information as the hotel had separated buildings even bellboy had very good knowledge about hotel. We book big room with garden view which had very big bathroom with bath tub. It was comfortable for two. There is nice cafe nearby in walking distance.
Booked this as an overnight stop between Thailand and Malaysia as it was close to Hat Yai Train station. Room was as expected for the price, clean and functional. Perfectly adequate for a stopover. The train station is a 2 minute walk around the corner. The area around the hotel was very nice, the local people was all very friendly and we felt very safe and welcome in Hat Yai. There was a 7-Eleven within 5 minute walk and lots of local street food.
This place is a jewel in Hat Yai. I heard from so many people how they had terrible accommodations when they arrived in Hat Yai, whereas I found this amazing, cosy, comfortable space close to the chaotic streets. The place itself is fully equipped and Khun Kookkai has thought of every single detail for her guests. The check-in process was smooth and easy!
Would definitely come back here in the future!
Monkham Village catered for the more Asian guests with regard to the breakfast, there wasn't much choice for their European guests. Locationwise, it is situated slightly away from the Centre of Hat Yai - needed a Grab or TutTut to get around. Everything else about this hotel was superb. This was our 2nd visit and we are planning a 3rd visit.
The place is very accessible to night markets and shopping malls, restaurants and massage places. Rooms are very clean and homey. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. It has enough parking space in the area and is not too crowded. This place is highly recommended when travelling to Hat Yai. We will surely come back again. ♥️
This is budget hotel, only 3mins walk to Lee Garden.
The reception is fluent with Malay so very easy to communicate. Hotel size is okay, with basic facilities. They provide free flow water at lobby and free 3in1 coffee self service which very nice of them. Wifi connection also very good. I will surely come again next time in hatyai.
The location of Chinatown Living Hotel is very good, it is very convenient to be away from various famous attractions such as Lee Garden, Kim Yong Market and so on. Moreover, the hotel is also close to 2 units of 7-11 convenience stores. The staff are helpful and friendly, and there is also 24-hour customer service and security.
Location is good. Near halal restaurant. Walking distance to Lee Garden area. I have book and stay at this hotel 3 Times. Room comfortable. Pressure pipe in bathroom fast.
FYI, i book for the date 18/2 - 20/2. But can't make it due to emergency matter and we manage to change the date to 2/3 - 4/3. Thank you Golden Crown Hotel.
Very close to two 7 Eleven, and a few restaurants and hawker stalls. Quite far to Lee Garden Hotel / Market, but still walkable (took me around 5-6 minutes walking). The hotel also serves breakfast on a pay to eat basis. Okay breakfast.
Also very nice and friendly staff.
The location was good and parking was abundant. Walking distance to Makro, Central Festival and Asean Night Bazar. Rooms are spacious and clean. All staffs are kind and always greet you with a smile. Will definitely be one of my favorite choice of hotel in Hatyai.
The room is very big for two person it's very comfortable. The bathroom is clean and nice. I like how they provide the bidet for the toilet. Definitely will repeat to stay here again when I visit Hat Yai later. Worth every penny for a very nice room.
Location is superb as this hotel literally across the Central Hat Yai Mall. The hotel is beautiful always full of functions, I can see they did provide good services and proper facilities for the guests. Hope they can maintain their services :)
The location is super strategic, close to everything that you can find in Hatyai town. From massage, food to night markets, everything is so close by. Besides, it is better than Lee Garden hotel due to the fact that it is less noisy.
Probably the best location in Hat Yai..its the very definition of central. Hotel buffet breakfast is 100% halal certified..a very very plus point for me and quite rare in Thailand. Parking is in the hotel and free which is great.
This hotel is a bit old tho, but very near to Hat Yai train station. Location is excellent, centre. Walk to nearest cafe infront of hotel & another block. 7E just nearby, across the road!!
