Good location right on the river (I was in the annexe building on the other side of the road to the main hotel). Reasonable sized room, quiet and a good breakfast (in the main building). Good value for money.

Totally loved this boutique hotel. Quirky comfortable room , super comfy bed and breakfast was delish
Chiang Saen is a lovely town to explore
Staff super attentive
Acceptable for one night. You need a car to get to the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof. Quite loud from the traffic. The hotel is located directly on the main street. The breakfast is not bad and with good coffee to make yourself with a coffee machine.

The shower head was to 50% clogged, and the water was deflected sideways splashing all over. This was the case in both the rooms I had booked!
The TV remote control did not work, as the batteries inside were corroded and bloated badly.

Chiang Saen was the first city in Thailand and some of the old walls remain. Scattered all around are the remains of old temples which are mostly marked with information boards. There are basic bicycles provided free to cycle around the town and the ruins. It is not a busy place and the cycling is safe. The Mokong River forms one border of the city and is also forms the border between Laos and Thailand. It is a major waterway and the activities going on are interesting to watch. The city has a relaxed atmosphere and the people quite friendly to visitors. Lots of coffee shops and a few restaurants. The Golden Triangle is a few km away by road and a little further is the hall of Opium museum which is well done and more interesting than perhaps the name suggests. About 7km away is Chaing Saen lake, a site for bird watching and with small villages to drive/cycle through. Probably 2/3 days is enough time to experience Chiang Saen but it is nice and relaxing and you may enjoy visiting more than once.

The hotel is located outside the center of the town near the wall. We chose it so that it would be quiet. The rooms are fine with hot water and air conditioning. Breakfast was fine. Price is also good for what we got.
We had food at a restaurant recommended by the hotel and that was a good choice. We wanted to visit the wall, wat Phra That Chedi Luang and Chiang Saen National museum. They were worth the visit.

This is a great, well priced little hotel in the beautiful town of Chiang Saen. Rooms are very spacious and mine had beautiful touches like a hand painted mirror and a traditional Thai seat. The staff were very helpful. The hotel has free bikes which are great for whizzing round the temples and ruins. I would definitely return here if I visit Chiang Saen again.
Lovely guesthouse facing Chiang Saen Lake. The garden is spectacular populated with cats and peacocks! The owners are super kind, they offered me one of the best beef curry I had in Thailand, also they helped me planning my tour in motorbike. I spent one more day here because I loved this place. Hopefully I will be back.
Pietro.
A hotel with real style. Not new but very well maintained. The rooms in the middle of the building facing the river side are great, with a direct view to the river from the balcony.
Quite big rooms, nice lobby.
An excellent value for money hotel. - Top tip - Ask in advance for a room that does not face the road. I asked for a quite room and it was still a little noisey, but there are rooms that will be quiter.
