The owners of the hotel were great. They helped us with all the immigration needed for Laos, got us there via tuk tuk while even offering free coffee, tea, and toast before the trip. This made our experience crossing the border hassle- and stress-free and were super grateful for that. The room was perfect. It had a beautiful view of the Mekong, powerful airconditioning and a lovely bed that slept great. They recommended a nice restaurant where we are deliciously. The cherry on top was that they honked their horn at us from the Thai side when we passed the hotel on the slow boat, they waved at us and it just felt so kind of them!!

I'm travelling for 10 months and it was my favourite place.
Green fields, delicious food, best staf ever that will make you feel at home.
Also great and very strong wifi in the dinning room.
If you have time before you gonna move to Laos, just stay there for more days. Although Chaing khong is small you can have chilly and great time in the Baan Sakuna hotel.
Can't wait to visit again.
I liked to have riverview. We had two single beds that we rearranged such that they were mire close to eachother. Not perfect but ok. For one person the bed was too hard, for the other it was good. Was great to be on the (small) balcony to look at the river, but there were no seats.
I used the pool, but at the time of the day the two high building on the side avoided all sunshine to warm up the water. We also had to use our own towels from the room, one per person.
Checkout was fast without checking the room. Few hours after we left, we were in Chiang Rai already, staff called us that they we left behind a watch. They agreed to send it to our home in Chiang Mai. Great service that we really appreciate.

I was in town for the first annual (I hope) Chiang Khong Music Festival.
The music was excellent and the roads to and from were perfect for motorcycles.
Chiang Khong is a sleepy little town with just enough nightlife to keep it from being boring.
It is right on the Mekong River and there is a "Friendship Bridge" border crossing to Lao (Laos) very close.
If you need to decompress, this is a good place to do it.
Great place to spend the night for Motorcycle enthusiasts.

Our hotel - chaing khong teak garden river front hotel was excellent. The location is perfect and right next to the Mekong river with lovely views. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Great service from staff too and a lovely pool to chill out
Really friendly staff. Beautiful room with amazing balcony and view overlooking the countryside. We didn't really use the balcony however due to the swarms of bugs and mosquitoes. A short walk to the Lotus shopping centre but you would need transport to get to the centre of Chiang Khong. We only stayed one night before catching the slow boat to Luang Prabang. The evening meal was really delicious and cheap.
Free pick up after we crossed the Laos border into Thailand and they cooked us a lovely meal once we got back to the property. The little huts had good A/C, were comfortable and clean. They dropped us off at the bus station in the morning too.
We stayed here for 1 night pre our boarder crossing to Laos. It’s a lovely hotel hidden off a busy street. Friendly staff. Good value for money. Large pool. I would stay here again.
