Honestly, a place that exceeds expectations. You are not getting a direct view of lake bled, nor vintgar valley, instead you get a place in a quiet hilly field, that provides you with a comfortable walk to both of the aforementioned spots. The house is tidy and well equipped yes, but it won't match the host. Literally the most pleasant and understanding person, that started our journey here in the greatest form possible. A chill and reasonable woman, that I have no hesitations in calling the most welcoming host. We have not Recommended unambiguously.

Comfortable room, nice to have a kettle and tea/coffee provided. A bonus that the use of the swimming pool is included with the room. The bar area had a very nice ambience. Breakfast was very good.

Location is as good as it gets, in the city center, at the lake.
Breakfast was amazing, with variety as well as tasty.
Dinner was also exceptionally good.
All in all, I would recommend the hotel.
Newly opened in April 2009 after extensive renovations, this 4-star hotel, first opened in 1906, is only 200 metres from Lake Bled and in the immediate vicinity of the train station.

Great view of Lake Bled, confortable room and fabulous amenities. Half an hour on a beautiful walk to town or 12 Euro cab ride. You need to be fit or have a car.
The Kompas Hotel is located in the very centre of Bled, within the immediate vicinity of Lake Bled.

Location is in a quiet area and might look a bit far from the lake, but it isn't. It is just a short walk away and fine for anyone with reasonable mobility.

Sponde Gorge is a village just outside Lake Bled so ideally situated for exploring the region. It is only a 5 min drive on main road or 25 min walk on smaller country roads.
There is a supermarket and a bar with a playground/skate park & a lovely restaurant serving local produce.
