Ptuj is a lovely historic town.
Ptuj is a lovely historic town. There are thermal pools which are a little dated but still very pleasant. The best experience was the visit to the castle. After you buy your ticket you can visit an exhbition about local carnival tradition (Kurenti) and an exhibition showing the production of cotton, silk, linen and wool. Then you can go to the castle which has three floors. You can explore various exhibitions on your own, there are paintings, weapons, furniture, and a lot more. We especially liked the mix of modern "paintings" and the old ones.

Very nice old town with a pleasant town centre. Easily walkable and nice pedestrianised areas. Quite a few sights to see, easily visitable in one or two days. Good choice of restaurants with lovely local food.
We didn't do any cycling but it looks like a great place and area for cycling. The river and local area are interesting for birdwatching. Apparently in the winter the river is a good place for seeing large numbers of wildfowl.

Ptuj (especially city center) is nice, cozy (the oldest in Slovenia) town with rich history to tell, some really interesting bars and all that is reachable on foot.
If you like beer, go to Bodi bar, if you like more "indie" scene go to Muzikakafe bar.

Small city, very nice, can see in a day or two. Outdoor cinema at local theater was great. Castle is cool. Terme Ptuj (waterpark) only fair. There is a free bus that can get you from the bus station (across street from train station) to center of city, and to Terme. We walked, but it was a bit warm and we had luggage, so knowing about bus in advance would have been good. Hotel staff had no clue.

we transited only, i passed through ptuj before, remember some bridge and river, some nice old architectiure downtown but nothing extraordinary to consider as tourist destination for more than a 1 night sleepover
We loved the stay at Peter’s apartment. He was the best host we have ever experienced. He is kind and certainly the animal lover (we came with the dog and he greeted us with joy and even snacks for the dog), and we were treated as the most welcome guests. Kitchen and bathroom was fully equipped and the place is just amazing. Peter was great, he welcomed us with some food. I have never met such a nice person as a host. Strongly recommend! Best stay in Slovenia :)
Apartment was very well equipped. Location was very nice, just outside the city center (20 min walk). Super market was very close by (5 min walk). Lots of interesting places to visit close by: Ptuj, Maribor, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Graz,... Only a 15 min car ride to the scenic Haloze region with amazing views on the many vineyards. The host was very welcoming and immediately responded when we had questions. An underground parking spot is also available!
The accommodation was in an unusual but lovely setting in old church buildings. It was right in the centre of Ptuj just below the castle. Our host gave us a very warm and friendly welcome, including a gift of Slovenian wine which we greatly appreciated. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. There was a good selection of food at breakfast. We were given an excellent recommendation for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
This is a lovely apartment with a great kitchen, large, comfortable bed, sitting space, a great shower, a working washer plus clothes rack for drying. And there is a single-serving coffee maker for which the host also had provided coffee pods. The apartment is a 5-min walk from the town square and the church. This was one of the nicest places we stayed in Slovenia, and Mario is a very nice man.
The location is the greatest advantage of the hotel and the rooms were surprisingly quiet although it stands close to a busy intersection. There is a parking behind the hotel, but make sure you book it beforehand, as it is not very big. The personnel was very polite and helpful. The breakfast was good. There is also a casino downstairs in the same building.
MuziKafe is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed at. The design in the room, the cafe and the courtyard/garden is exceptionally beautiful. The atmosphere is so relaxed. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. And also the breakfast was really nice.
We traveled here the second time and will go back again. This is an amazing place for families. We love the indoor and outdoor pool area of the hotel and the beach just opposite the hotel is also very good. Food is also good. The staff is friendly and very helpful, especially Sabina and Maja at the reception.
The hotel is just few minutes drive from the very nice Ptuj city centre.

Comfortable, large house that felt like a home away from home. There were even drawing materials for our kids. Large garden where the kids could play, with garden set and barbecue. In a quiet street, not too far from the center of Ptuj.
