The lake area is absolutely stunning, especially on a sunny day. I would recommend walking around half of the lake, opposite the side with the road to Ukanc, and taking the boat back to Ribcev Laz. A lot of the car parks are limited to 2 hours, so taking a bus to the lake area is the best option if you want to spend at least half a day there.

Bohinj is one of the nicest places in Slovenia, less touristic than lake Bled. We did beautiful hiking trails in the mountains. Bohinj lake is marvelous, unfortunatelly, we could stay only 3 nights in this beautiful place

Slovenia is a very clean, efficient and beautiful country that offers opportunities for all aspects of life, particularly outdoor activities. Bohinj is a little quieter that Lake Bled which has a more tourist focus, although beautiful in itself.

Bohinj is beautiful, much nicer than Bled and not so many people. There are lots of spots around the lake where you can relax, sunbathe or swim. We walked around the lake , it took 3 hours. At the far end is a camp site, they have a little snack bar you can use and toilets.
You can also visit Savica waterfall, it is amazing. Luckily it had rained the day we visited, so there was lots of water going through.
Try restaurant Kramer on the lake side, it does great food.

Absolutely spectacular place! The water is cold and crystal clear, no trash anywhere, the locals are nice, it's a magical place to be. At summer you might need swimming shoes at some places because of the rocks.

Incredible views with lots of possibilities for active holidays - mountain hikes with wide range of difficulties, biking, water sports or simply relaxing swim in pure lake... Several decent places to eat & drink. Lots of families with children, so must be children friendly as well :)
Absolutely loved the apartment, which was perfect for small family of four. Superb location at the quiet end of Lake Bohinj with excellent bar/restaurant next door (worth reserving to secure outside seat). The hosts were extremely pleasant and most hospitable. The apartment was excellent value for money situated within a beautiful part of Slovenia. Bohinj is far cheaper than Bled, less crowded and more authentic. Plenty of excellent swimming spots in easy walking distance. I look forward to returning here.

The place is the perfect location for exploring the National Park and to be close to the lakes.

A recently renovated, beautiful hotel in the heart of Bohinj. The design blends in with nature, using wood and natural materials. The staff are amazing, the wellness is worth the visit and the dinner at the hotel restaurant was outstanding, using local ingredients. It is a bit pricey for Slovenian standards, but well worth it.
The location was amazing. It was our second time there and we loved it again! The view is stunning, you can walk to lake Bohinj from the hotel and the staff is super friendly. Also, I love that I can take my pet with me when I stay there.
I loved everything. The apartment, the view, the location. It was very clean. The hosts were super nice and lovely people. Slovenia NEVER disappoints! 💓 Definitely would recommend and will visit again!
