For us this is a gem in an enchanted village with great rural Romanian traditions that whilst facing change due to modernisation remain and create an oasis of relaxation and peace. Anna is a warm and welcoming host serving up a breakfast of locally grown and produced items, with the opportunity to have evening meals of local Romanian cuisine. Spacious apartment, I wouldn’t even call it a room ;-), there is a space to park a car, lovely and helpful owners, good place from where you can start sightseeing Maramures must haves - wooden monasteries and the cementery in Sapanta.
The area is great. Maramures had a lot of hills (the mountains start there) and a lot of old wooden churches you can visit (the most for free). Not long away there is the happy cemetery what's worth a visit also (5 Ron entree). The nature is nice. Good for hiking or bike/motorbike riding.
