Vilamoura is a great location to stay in the Algarve.
Vilamoura is a great location to stay in the Algarve. It has the marina which has a lot different restaurants offering different cuisines. The restaurant near the marina called Golden Marina Asian Restaurant has excellent food and variety. You can also spend your time in the Marina during the night and book your excursions and shop. My kids always enjoy the treat of ice cream or go to the arcade.

It’s an upmarket tourist town known for the Golf courses. We stayed there to attend a wedding. Very modern heaps of restaurants and bars. Perfect for people on holiday to eat drink and play golf. If you want any cultural experiences you will need a car to drive outside of Vilamoura.

Lovely area - plenty of different restaurants and bars for the evening on the Marina. But if you venture a few streets away from the main hustle and bustle there are some real gems which are far cheaper and in some cases far better quality.
There are excursions which can be booked from the marina and well worth looking into.
The beaches in the area are very nice too.

The constant (almost 18h / day) very loud music coming out simultaneously out of different pubs at the Marina de Vilamoura, the pseudo disco's (next to the Domes Lake Resort Hotel, starting from 6pm - mid-night) is a nightmare for those with families and seeking tranquility etc.
The mayor of Vilamoura has been duly informed years back, and they just do not care ($$$). So, go to other places if you seek holidays without constant unacceptable loud music and noise levels.
Stuck in Portugal after the flights were cancelled my partner and I needed somewhere to stay last minute. The host was exceptional in helping us out, with an understanding and caring attitude.
The accommodation was lovely, next to a couple of restaurants and bar, all of which were lovely. It was close enough to the marina and beach so we could walk. The local supermarkets were minutes away allowing ease for anyone self catering.
The apartment itself was lovely and clean, with a nice decor and cosy balcony.
Positioned just a couple of hundred yards from the Anantara Hotel, which has a very nice pool bar and restaurant area at the rear.
The property itself is a very nice ground floor apartment, with 2 ensuite bedrooms and a generously sized open plan lounge/dining kitchen arrangement. Plus private terrace at the rear.
There is a very nice communal pool area private to the surrounding apartments which was almost always completely deserted, so felt like our own pool area.
Location was only a 2 minute walk from the actual Marina and all the restaurants and bars. Fantastic choice if you want everything at the tip of your fingers. if you're planning any activities like fishing, jet ski's ect the booth is a 2 minute walk and give you pretty good discounts. The actual hotel is very clean and modern, with friendly staff who are very helpful when needed.
The location is great, around a 5 minutes taxi from Vilamoura Marina. Plenty of parking and charger points. The rooms are a good size and located in nice gardens with nice pools and 2 minute walk to the golf club.
We had a wonderful stay at the Crowne Plaza Vilamoura - Algarve, it was so much nicer than we expected. The location was great as so close to the marina.
