Got to town didn't previously book a place. Found this absolute gem online and they had a room available!! It was late and dark so we really couldn't see what the place looked like till morning. Absolutely stunning!! Saved this special place and would absolutely stay there again!! Highly recommended!!

If you want a quieter vacation without lots of people then Luz is great. There were sufficient places to eat good selection and service with a great view. It was an elegant location. We found a restaurant just out of town that was great value and excellent service.

Luz is a lovely old town on the coast now mostly given over to villas and holiday rentals. Nice coastal walks to Lagos.
We didn't love the restaurants, catering too much for the British I would think. Football showing everywhere.

We like the views along from the pagoda along the promenade and the beach and the variety of cafes and restaurants. Both the supermarkets are good and the bus service is reliable for getting both East and West along the coast.
New to us restaurant Urban had excellent food at great prices and friendly staff.

Luz is a very beautiful beach town with really great amenities. The views of the beach and cliffs are really beautiful. The promenade along the seafront is a marble cobblestone walkway with cafes and restaurants. Small market stalls for trinkets. The restaurants in Luz are top quality and my favourites are ZaZu and Latitude. During high season it is good to book.
There are 2 lots of beach concessions with sun beds and umbrellas. We were always on the beach by 9.30 but beds were Normally all taken by 10am.
Luz is a very family resort and very popular.
I wouldn’t recommend Luz to anyone with mobility issues as it is quite hilly.
Liked the location, close enough to Lagos and beaches, well kept grounds, nice pool, very quiet. Was pleasantly surprised with the restaurant, it was buffet style, not a large buffet but enough choices and well set up. Breakfast was very nice and dinner was a very nice surprise, we really enjoyed it. Hotel has a beautiful view. The staff and service were top notch! Very friendly staff, service was very good! Our group all agrees we will definitely return. Luzmar Villas was a great stay all around!
Our stay at Luzmar villas was truly exceptional. It is an oasis of peace and calm in the touristic rush of Algarve. The suites are spacious and balconies have fantastic views of the large pool and beautiful garden. Breakfast was amazing, it is more like a full brunch than breakfast. The staff were lovely. The location is superb as it is a walking distance to the beach in praia da luz, but would recommend having a car to really appreciate all that the location has to offer. Highly recommend.
The Ocean Villas is an extraordinary place with its private garden leading to the ocean and common area with beautiful swimming pool. The apartament had a nice ocean view. We had very well equiped kitchen and washing machine. The owners were very friendly, one of them spoke Polish :) There were two sandy beaches in short walking distance. Restaurants, shops and best ice creams were nearby. We spent very nice holidays in Luz.
Location of the property is very good, very short walk from the main beach in Praia da Luz. Supermarket very close. There are also some restaurants on Praia da Luz. Nonetheless the house has everything to prepare meals, even a grill. The dishwasher is a great help after the meal to tidy up the kitchen.
On top of everything the house has ocean view, we stayed in during the full moon, and the view at night was great.
I don’t know where to start but this was definitely the highlight of our trip to Portugal thanks to the hosts of this beautiful home. Breakfast was delicious, the views from the terrace during sunset were espectacular and going for a swim was great after a day of sightseeing. Thank you Jonas and Thomas, you have a really special place and we can’t wait to be back!
The apartment we stayed in was absolutely beautiful. It was spacious & had a great layout meaning all members of our party had their own bedroom & bathroom. Having a sea view was an extra bonus. It was especially helpful that we were provided with water, milk & coffee to start off our stay. Luz is a beautiful resort & Baia da Luz the perfect accommodation.

You could not get closer to the beach . Luz is a very quite place after 10pm all the bars and restaurants close in the beach area. It has some good restaurants a very good beach . The accommodation is good, comfortable all you could ask. I was not overly keen on the spiral stairs but other than that spot on..
Fantastic service, wonderful and quiet location surrounded by nature. Comfortable and spacious room. Nice swimming pool and very good breakfast. On top of that friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is pet friendly with a very convenient free parking. I fully recommend that place even for longer stays.
We had a splendid time at Aurora Sol. Our host, Rui Lopez, was kind and attentive and has a great sense of humor.
The hotel is close enough to town to be able to walk to the beach and shops, but out of the noisy hustle and bustle.

The hotel was very nice and quiet. The algarve is very busy city this is in a quiet neighborhood. Can walk to town for fun, food and grocery. The restaurant at the hotel is really good and good value.
The staff in Estrela de Luz were extremely friendly. The location is walking distance to the beach and supermarkets.

Loved this place - fully equipped apartment in country setting near Fisherman’s Trail. It’s 3.5 outside of Luz so plan to buy groceries en route or eat in the on-site restaurant.
View from the balcony was the best. Plenty of space in the house itself. It was very clean. Great location near plenty of restaurants and a couple of grocery stores.
