Great hotel overall, very friendly staff and great room size.
The hotel itself, inside, was very quiet.
No sound from other rooms unless they spoke loudly, which is good for privacy.
Recommended place to stay for people who want to be outside of the city center, and very close to train station!

Such a beautiful hotel on a beautiful city. Felt like we traveled back in time, but kept all the comfort. Our room was simply exquisite, I wish I have had a chance to sit at the balcony to drink some whine. Oh, I have to coment on the art. the watercolor landscapes all over the walls made walk the entire hotel just to admire them.

Aviero is beautiful. The town centre has amazing Portuguese style buildings, the streeets are very clean, it is all very walkable and the gondola trips are very reasonably priced and leave from the canal in the central area. These tours are in multiple languages, so suitable for everyone. The local restaurants have all types of great food at very reasonable prices and local supermarkets and shops are really good value. People are friendly and helpful. Loved our stay there.

Lots of tourists in Aveiro at the weekend, many on the moliceiro boat trips along the canal. Lovely way to sightsee if weather is good - it was quite hot before Easter but with a cooling breeze. The multi-lingual guide on the moliceiro gave detailed and interesting information about Aveiro, especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings as well as the stunning modern architecture. Also the fishing history of Aveiro was explained well.
Lovely walks alongside the canal from MELIA hotel, quiet and very little traffic until you arrive in the centre. On Sundays many market stalls selling numerous antiques along both sides of canal.
Back street walks are full of interesting surprises, traditional tiled buildings, sculptures, cafes, restaurants and bars. Very easy to walk around and explore or cycle on numerous dedicated cycle paths. Also excellent S Joana museum and art gallery in centre.
Good place for a long weekend or even a week if you also want to get out of centre to the beaches.

Aveiro is a charming city with fantastic food and friendly people.
We are moving there, that is how much we like it. It is much cleaner and quieter than Porto (where we have lived for the past 3 years.)
There is lots to do, shopping, eating, sites, boat rides, museums, to name a few.
There are lovely cities nearby as well. Ovar, Costa Nova, Águeda and Ílhavo. As well as Coimbra.
It has a great central location 2 hrs from Lisbon and less than an hour from Porto.

Aveiro is a beautiful city overall, my favourite place is the Ria of Aveiro wit his colourful boats and the Barra's beach with his colorful wood-houses as well.
I ate in a restaurant near the shopping centre Forum. I've rent a car from Lisbon to get around so I didn't need a public transport but there's a bicycle in the city to rent to get around which is very useful.
You have to go to a restaurant on time between 12-15 otherwise it won't be easy to find a place that open till late for lunch.
I like traditional restaurants around the city instead of the fast food ones. In Portugal the food is amazing!

I regret not being able to explore the city thoroughly during my visit. Nonetheless, I had a delightful evening at a local pub, which turned out to be a truly enjoyable experience. The people in the city are remarkably warm and friendly, adding to the overall positive impression of my brief stay.

Seeing pictures and videos of Aveiro was excepting more then what I saw. Those who say Aveiro is Portugal's Venice they must not been in Venice. For us it was waste of time to stay overnight. Maybe it was due to construction that was going around the city center. I was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight. Maybe quick stop on your way.
The two young men at the front desk couldn't have been any nicer or helpful. We parked out front at the designated hotel space since the garage was occupied. The room is adequate. The old, colorful train station is around the corner and up the block, it houses a museum. We certainly enjoyed the delightful boat ride in Aveiro (parking is a challenge so park in the parking garage) and our ride out to the beach with the striped houses. The ribs at Salna Brasa, a nearby restaurant, were delicious.
The hotel has a very good position in the city, right next to the old city center where there are many restaurants and nice places to see. It is close to public transport and easy to reach from the train station. Everything was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. The room and bathroom are a bit small, but well organized. The breakfast was excellent, with many choices for food and deserts.
Excellent location in the heart of the city
Owner of the apartment extremely helpful, kind and flexible. Speaks fluent English. Very easy to communicate 👌
Well equipped kitchenette and spacious dining area. Bonus to have a lift to the apartment :)
Walking distance to the city center, university of Aveiro, shopping malls and most of the attractions in the city.
3 bathrooms, two with showers, comfortable beds. Nice area to eat outdoors and indoors, plenty of space in the garden for the children to play. Laundry possible. We had a great barbecue on the terrace.
Quiet surroundings, 10 min by car to the center of Aveiro and 15-20 till the beaches. The Passadiços de Aveiro start a short walk from the house.
This was a great location for visiting Aveiro. Easy, short 10 minute walk into the center of town, easy driving to/from the hotel with indoor parking available. Hotel was being remodeled and the new rooms were fabulous. Great home base for visiting the local area. Excellent breakfast with large variety of options was available at the hotel.
This was a great little hotel. The location was perfect for exploring Aveiro by foot. We found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating in meeting our needs. The room itself was a little tight for both our trolleys (open), but it was clean and had all the necessary amenities we'd expect from a hotel. Highly recommended for a few days.
A truly outstanding value. Nothing really special about the hotel, it's just that it was absolutely fine at a startlingly low price. The hotel had all the same features that I would expect in a $200/nt hotel for about $100/nt. There was even parking, a most welcome luxury in Portugal.
The apartment is very spacious, has a lot of natural light and it is located right in the center of Aveiro, perfect location!
Has all the amenities needed, very confortable and clean, and the staff is very nice and responsive.
We loved our stay and would definitely stay there again!
We loved our stay at Hotel das Salinas. We only stayed one night, if we have a chance to go back to Aveiro, we will go back to this hotel.
The staff was great and very helpful when we had questions on what to do, where to go running, where to eat and the likes.
Loved it.
The hotel was located in a very central location in Aveiro, made it easy to walk around, get to restaurants. The layout was well done and they utilized the space well, and we booked the balcony apartment above the restaurant entrance, so we had a bit of outside seating.
The hotel is in a very good location, right next to the canal in the center of the town. It is very convenient to walk anywhere in the town; your car can be parked in the shopping mall next to it, and there are hotel reserved spaces in the parking lot.
The room was quiet, spacious and very clean. The staff was polite and helpful and recomend us tours in the city. The breakfast was ok. The hotel was about 1.2 Km from the city center. You could easily reach the old town and the canals.
Great location, right in the center of Aveiro. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. The apartment is very quiet - there was a big construction next to it, and you couldn't hear any noise when the windows were closed.
The hostel is very well centered . Very clean. Shining clean. The stuff was great and very helpful. Breakfast was fine. Every thing was very good. I enjoyed my stay very much inAveiro and in the hostel. Thank you🙏
It is the perfect place to stay in Aveiro. It is located near the city center in a peaceful street. The room is big and clean. The owner is available and very polite. For me it is a super OK!!
Location good for canals and the historic centre of Aveiro and also a short drive from the beaches. Supermarket underneath the block so really handy. Comfortable apartment with all amenities.
The best bedding in all of Portugal! Fabulous accommodation and rooftop terrace. Small but stunning breakfast room on the roof level. Excellent location right on the canal.
The apartment has a lot of space and it’s in the city center. Walking distance to pretty much everywhere in Aveiro. They allow pets which for me is an important thing.
the rooms very good , breakfast was good , the couple who manage the property are really nice and helpful . a very good place to stay in the center of aveiro .
The hotel is very close to Train Station and to the center. The rooms were clean and big. A very quite place to take rest. Te staff was so helpful and kind.
