Clean, good value for money, good location. We arrived at 5am and they stored our bags and let us move our included breakfast from the last day to this one so we could eat.

The building dates back to the 16th century and has been built with the typical white Arequipean stone. It is beautiful, especially the patio and the terrace. We liked the location because it's close the main square and away from the hustle and bustle, which means you can sleep peacefully. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Peru. The restaurant of the hotel serves delicious local food and they are willing to give a lot of information about the ingredients. Overall very friendly staff. We would choose this hotel again when visiting Arequipa.

Arequipa is a very nice city different from the other cities in Peru, a very clean and welcoming town. I think it has a lot to offer from the mountains to the coast! Colca canyon is a must! Amazing place to relax and enjoy the mountains and the peaceful towns. Downtown is also really nice with good restaurants, cafes, museums and nice churches that are open to visit in the day. There are also nice typical restaurants around the city where they serve local and delicious dishes. Arequipa is totally recommended for 2 to 4 days.

Nice city with an attractive historical centre with Santa Catalina Monastery the absolute top attraction, an amazing place with an amazing history. Do not miss a trip to Colca Canyon to see the condors, that is amazing and this is one of the few places in the world where you can see condors. Another must see site is The founder of Arequipa (Garci Manuel de Carbajal) mansion, about 20 km outside the city. In two to three days you will be able to cover the above mentioned attractions.

A beautiful city!
A beautiful city! Lots of culinary options to choose from, especially in the city center around Plaza des Armas! If you need to try anything in particular, go for Kam Thai Cuisine and Mumis for their tasting course, as well as for Pachamanca at Don Beto a bit outside of the city center.
Anything you need can be reached by foot, also, the taxis are reliable.
The guides of all the tours were well trained and gave you all the information needed!
I can only recommend going to Arequipa if you have the chance, for my part, I'll certainly come back one day :)
climbing Nevado Chachani, Laguna Salinas, climbing Ubinas vulcano
La Lecoreta Monastery with Museum and Library, Mercado san Camilo, Viewpoint Square in the Yanahuara District, Santa Catalina Monastery Complex, Santuarios Andinos University Museum with the Juanita Mummy
We loved our stay at pusary hotel the rooms are spacious and clean and it's in a nice area very close to the main square the staff where amazing we had a tour at 3am and unfortunately the tour didn't show so we had to wake the owner up to get back into our room and she was so nice and kind to us she even called peruhop to try sort out tour for us she was so nice always smiling and always trying to help we asked to stay an extra night and she sorted another room for us! Highly recommended great hotel great service and great location
The hotel has a hostel section and they are providing hotel quality at the hostel as well.Although the location is very central, it is very quiet. Super clean and comfy beds, open buffet rich breakfast, lovely and caring personnel (especially Mari, in the reception). Mari is amazing. She even prepared a breakfast box for me since I had a night departure for Colca tour. i stayed there for a week and felt really like home. A hidden gem in Arequipa.
Eddy the owner was fantastic! The hotel itself is beautifully decorated with lush furniture & a lovely quiet balcony, 10-13 min walk from the main Plaza.
Breakfast was always a treat for us in the morning & the walls were thick enough that we could sleep in a bit after long hikes the week before wore us down.
The water pressure was good in the shower & the bed was firm but comfy.
Staying here was the highlight of our Arequipa leg.
Visited Peru for a total of 2 weeks and this hotel had by far the best pillows and bed. Super comfortable and I wish we would have stayed more than one night. The rooftop restaurant was incredible for both breakfast and dinner! Just wish people wouldn't block the view with their non-stop picture taking so we could actually enjoy the view the whole time. The restaurant even offered heated ponchos for the cold evening. Superb!
Located close to the center, but still quiet. Super nice staff, awesome breakfast. Two nice rooftop terraces with views of the volcanos and cozy hammocks. Everything was clean and there was always hot water. The best hostel I've stayed at in Peru so far. Would have loved to stay longer but there were no free rooms for the next day.
The staff was great, so helpful and friendly! We felt very comfortable and welcomed at this stay.
We booked a really good tour to the colca canyon about this Hostal and we would do that again :)
Also the breakfast on the rooftop is a great beginning of the day.
We can recommend Hostal Virreinal to 100%! :)
Good location. we arrived early on the morning and the manager Jesus gave us a room to temporarily refresh and rest until our room was ready! You don't normally get that in hotels these days! Also there was always hot water in the bathroom a regular problem in hotels in Peru. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Amazing hotel in Arequipa. Very comfortable beds, good showers, great views. Exceptionally helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious and they were able to accommodate our special dietary requirements. 15-20 min by foot to the city center. Very safe and quiet location. Highly recommended!
Very charming hotel, located a short walk from the old city. Rooms were impeccably clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast on the terrace was lovely. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, including packing us boxed lunches when we had a 3am departure to Colca canyon.
The most comfortable place we stayed in while in Peru! Bed was amazing, a lot of closet and counter space, very clean, great location, and the staff was so helpful. I forgot one of my shirts and they helped me find it the next day.
Very kind and informative staff. They give us a lot of useful tips to visit Arequipa and Colca Canyon.
Good room with bathroom. Comfortable bed.
Very nice terrace with great view.
Good shared kitchen.
The staff is the primary reason I find Chikan Hoteles in Arequipa to be excellent. They go out of their way to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. I highly recommend this particular hotel.
Very nice boutique hotel with rooftop with a view on the vulcano. we had the suite superior and it was worth for the size and the view! Good breakfast made with care and very kind staff.
Best breakfast during our Peru Trip
Beautiful inner courtyard, nicely decorated
Nice location central to the city (5-10 min to plaza de armas)
Comfortable beds
