Located in a beautiful setting, lush and green, flowers, nice hikes right out the door. You can walk down to Piha beach from there, but there isn’t a pedestrian path, and roads are narrow. The roads are still being repaired from storm damage over the past year. The kitchen and eating areas are spacious and comfortable, making it easy to meet your fellow travelers; there is a lot of outside seating as well. Our room was very clean and comfortable; the shared bathrooms were also very nice. I’d go back there in a minute!

What a lovely peaceful little haven Jenny has created here in the winery district! It was so quiet and pretty, with a beautiful view. We came over from Australia for a wedding in one of the wineries nearby and I'm so glad I booked an extra couple of nights in Rosebud Cottage to chillax. I'd have been so sad to leave without waking up to that valley filled with birdsong more than once, and enjoying that spectacular bath on the verandah!
The town close to Auckland with a beautiful and big beach.
The town close to Auckland with a beautiful and big beach. It has some restaurants and a shop with basic things to buy. It is a great place to relax and escape from the big city. There are also some nice tracks in the forest.

Known for the beach and its surf, Piha is perfectly located for those wishing to explore the Waitakere Ranges. The township is very small so if you’re staying for a few days it would pay to bring your own food & drink supplies.

Piha is renowned as a 'must see' for its amazing beach with dramatic rocks surrounding, also as a surf venue, though take care in the water, there are strong waves and currents. It's a small community at the end of a long steep road. No village centre as such, but there are some place to eat/drink.

Fabulous beach with gorgeous setting.
Fabulous beach with gorgeous setting. We climbed the Lion Rock and went to both ends of the beach. a terrific walk to the Kitekite Falls is absolutely worth the trip. Went twice and the second time I went in for a brief swim at the base of the falls. Also great sunsets on the beach!

Piha/Karekare is a stunningly beautiful area and well worth a visit. Go to the waterfall and also see the local beeches. Also eat at Piha cafe as it is really good. Just watch our for the mosquitoes at night though.

If I had my time over, I wouldn't have gone to Piha.
If I had my time over, I wouldn't have gone to Piha. The drive was terrifying with other drivers speeding around the corners and steep hills - you'd turn a corner and there would be a car well over the centre line!
Very limited food options in Piha - there's 1 cafe that is ridiculously over priced and 1 store that doesn't stock much at all. No where to buy alcohol that isn't on premises only and i wasn't doing the drive back to Auckland just for food and drink.

The accommodation is set in a lovely subtropical valley, with views across to a nicely kept lawn, stream and cross-valley hillside. You truly feel far away from things yet still very close to Piha Beach. Kitekite Falls are close but unfortunately the track was closed during our short one-night stay. The common areas (living, kitchen, fireplace, toilets, showers) were clean, well-stocked, and conducive to nice interactions with other guests. The host Geoff was very attentive and helpful.
Clean accommodation just a short walk to Piha Beach. The available accommodations, such as kitchen supplies, games, BBQ, and awesome common space would be great for a solo traveler wanting to get to know other travelers, or for a couple wanting a few days with a homey feel. Loved the close access to trails and jog to the beach. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Would love to stay for a longer period next time around.
Incredible view just outside the hustle and bustle of Auckland! Less than an hour from the airport but it felt like a remote coastal village. The property is up on a hill but it’s just 5 minutes to drive down into Piha proper where you can enjoy the beach or hike up Lion’s Rock. An espresso machine and tea-making facilities are included as well as a towel warmer in the bathroom which was a welcome amenity.
The view was amazing. The accommodation was very romantically presented. Lots of extra condiments supplied by host. Information on how to get to accommodation was very clear. We were lucky to get into Piha due to road closures (after cyclone) but we'll worth the visit. Short distance to the beaches and Lion Rock. Watching the sunset from high on the hill was just breathtaking. We loved our overnight stay.
Piha Beachstay is a lovely property. The common areas are cozy and very well equipped wiht everything you could possibly need. The location could not be more perfect to all the nearby sight seeing options. Our room was comfortable, and very clean and we had an excellent night's sleep after a whole day of wandering.
The best part was waking up to the view and sounds of birds all around.
Location:
Close to the Piha beach & Kitekite falls - 5mins by car.
Close to Mercer bay - less than 5mins by car.
Overall:
The very best view’s there!
plus Beach towels and towels, hair dryer and straightener, Milk and water, toothbrush, etc. everything you need for a day or two is there.
100% recommended.
Willing to go & stay again to see the view.
What a beautiful space! Walking distance to the beach, a beautiful outdoor area to sit outside with a creek running through it. The private toilets and showers were clean and spacious . There is a large kitchen available for cooking and fresh free range eggs available to purchase. It’s a very beautiful and calm space!
Kathy the host was amazing. We rode out Cyclone Gabrielle there, and she made sure we had everything we needed! Room and view were great, with a quick ride to Piha Black Sand Beach, which is a wonderfully quaint town. - Michael and Alexandra
Everything was just absolutely perfect. From arrival to the the the Piha Tiny House. Location was stunning. We enjoyed our stay, was very quiet. Everything was just amazing. We are definitely coming back here in future.
It is so nice, cosy, clean, comfortable and incredible. The kitchen is very well equipped. The garden with the river running through is really beautiful. And it's in Piha. And finally, there are trampolines.
Everything was perfect (except for the weather but that was nobody’s fault). The house was very comfortable and homely - nice personal, warm touches that made it feel like home, not a hotel.
