Older style motel (and that’s one the reasons I chose it), very clean and comfortable, laid-back feel to the place and close to amenities.

Very secluded getaway location pretty much designed specifically for wine makers because there wineries for Africa there, but the town lacks in offering much else as a reason to go there unless you’re into tramping (the surrounding areas are tailor made for it) - very little tourist attractions offered in the township compared to nearby Wanaka which punches well above its weight.

Great for wine tasting, especially also at Bannockburn, Lowburn and Northburn. Particularly recommended a booking at Felton Road. Waterpark adds a new dimension. Walking and cycling. It can be windy and also grey in winter.

It had been 12 years since we last visited Cromwell.
It had been 12 years since we last visited Cromwell. Not surprisingly it had grown and changed significantly - and for the better. The town has a pleasant ambience about it and the people appear very relaxed. Everything one wants is there and there is a comprehensive range of retail and hospitality. We liked our trip so much that we shall be returning for a more thorough look around.

It is a friendly, well-kept town with fabulous scenery.
It is a friendly, well-kept town with fabulous scenery. Very close to Arrowtown and Queenstown without the traffic hassles (especially of Qtown). It has a reasonable number of shops, enough restaurants and pubs. we didn't have kids but there seemed to be plenty of places for them to run around and play. it felt safe and inviting.

Great accommodation that was not expensive but very homely...
Great accommodation that was not expensive but very homely and a central location to see and visit the rest of Central Otago. Dined at the Town and Country Club , Carrick Winery, barbequed at our unit.
The location, the view, and the privacy were spectacular. The room and facilities were high-quality, new and beautiful. Our bathroom was equipped with a large tub next to a picture window with a great view, plants, double sinks, instant-on great shower. The breakfast was presented so that we could set our own schedule, and snacks of fruit, chocolate, cold drinks & Nescafe coffee were available all the time for us out in the hall. Dinner at Bannockburn Hotel was a treat. Jules & Chris took great care of us!
Pisa Moorings was fantastic location in a quiet subdision (away from busy roads) on the lakeside. The breakfasts were amazing and the hosts were aware of my gluten free needs and provided delicious alternatives. We enjoyed chatting with the friendly hosts and the other guests (there are 2 bnb rooms) at breakfast served in the dining room overlooking the lake. We also appreciated the welcome snack basket which included gf. Location handy to Cromwell and not too far from Wanaka and Arrowtown.
Modern and cozy hostel located 7 min driving from Cromwell to Wanaka. The common areas are big, Kitchen is full equipped , showers and toilets where clean. We stayed on the 6 girl bunk bed and the room is big. Luckily me and my friend were the only ones for the night. The night was really cold but the place is warm and they have extra blankets for those that need. Overall it was a good place to stay the night. My fav part is George the dog! such a lovely Labrador ready to cuddle.
One of the more luxurious places to stay. Private lake to swim in too. The restaurant attached is quite good also. The upper room is what we stayed in and it was VERY nice. Big bath, modern bathroom, comfy bed. Large smart TV, balcony with table and chairs to sit out and watch the scenery. Really enjoyed staying here and would very likely stay here again when we come back to Queenstown.
We had a lovely two night stay at Cozy Cottage. It’s was clean and beautifully styled with cosy and comfy furniture. The cottage had everything we needed including the added bonus of breakfast and kitchen supplies - so handy when travelling around. Michael the host was so welcoming and offered us some great tips about the area. We loved the cottage and Cromwell! Thank you
The owners were friendly and helpful. The rooms are excellent. Being by a small sheltered arm of the lake was an added bonus for bird watching and paddle boarding. Kayaks were also available. A BBQ area was available. A spa and small pool were available. Bike and walking tracks were nearby. Close to Cromwell for many restaurant choices when not using the BBQ.
Although we arrived early, we were allowed to check in as there was already a room available. Very clean, spacious room. Internet was OK but on the slow side. Upon leaving (as we left early) the staff took the trouble of wishing us safe travels through the window upstairs. Motel conveniently located close to restaurants.
Our stay at Rose Creek Cottage was exceptional. Leigh Anne and Andrew are wonderful hosts. Seeing their horses and spending time with the valais sheep was a magical experience. The cottage has been recently renovated, is spotlessly clean, and the location is very quiet despite only being a 5 minute drive from Cromwell.
Cool spot for a one night stopover during our roadtrip. Close driving to really great vineyards, Cromwell, Clyde, Wanaka ;-)
Comfortable room - we had upstairs with lovely view.
Worth noting the restaurant was good too (It's a bit far to Cromwell - if you want to have a few wines over dinner)
The Colonial Manor Motel was the perfect place for a quiet and spotlessly clean overnight stay. Cheryl, the owner, was very friendly and offered several options for local wine tastings and food. We would definitely return here the next time we're in Cromwell!
An exceptional location, view and amazingly clean and warm room. Totally relaxed setting and wonderful to come home to after our time with family in Cromwell. Sally and Donald were exceptionally charming hosts and made us feel very welcome.
The view and welcoming nature of the decor and room were fantastic. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, honestly. It was a short drive to Queenstown yet truly felt in the middle of wine country which is what we wanted.
Absolutely fantastic location with walking to town. Fantastic two bedroom unit for a family, very comfortable and very well appointed with nice touches. Our family of four loved our stay at the Assure in Cromwell.
Outstanding accommodation that exceeded my expectations. I was met at the gate to ensure I could find the key. Spotless room and Netflix was a bonus. Will definitely consider again when I'm next in Cromwell.
