We did not stay because of hans coming to Gudbrandsdalen we had a cup of coffe and left. The reseptionist did offer what ever she could to serve us during the 30 minutes we stayed. The Hotel is a very special historical place and worth a stay just for the nearby..

I was looking for a ski lodge (in the summer) with a 70s/80s vibe, and I got it. Reviewers had complained that the place sorely needed an update, but the vintage interiors (not so much deliberately 'vintage' as coincidentally the same sofas, carpets and curtains they've had for decades, or so it seemed) were part of the charm for me and exactly why I booked this place. It was like traveling back in time. At the same time, everything was clean and in perfect working condition. The lobby was large and very lively and the breakfast offerings were extensive.
I was delighted to catch a glimpse of the two grey estate cats scampering across the parking lot and into the trees. The cats were also part of the reason I chose Venabu, although they are not allowed into the building itself.
