I was in Amsterdam to meet an old friend. My daughter came from NZ to meet up with me during a longer Europe trip. Initially, I was inclined to book a hotel by Amsterdam Centraal since I was taking the train from Munich. I ended up booking here. It turned out to be a great experience. The hotel is literally connected to the Sloterdijk Station one of the main Amsterdam stations along with Centraal and Zuid (South). On the main NS train, it is one stop from Centraal (5 minutes) and two stops from Schipol (Schipol, Lelylaan and Sloterdijk). Besides the NS train, which is not part of the metro network, one can also access the metro, trams and buses. Walking out of the Sloterdijk stations, one turns right and the hotel is literally right there virtually next door. From Sloterdijk, one can catch the NS (long distance) trains or the M51 to Centraal. This is at the level of the hotel's main exit. Or one can go down to Level Minus 2 of the hotel and right across there are the buses and trams. We did not use the bus but we did use the M51 a lot and also the 19 tram to Dmien Sniep to get to Museumplein for the Van Gogh and Riksmuseum. Downstairs in the hotel is the Marmaris restaurant which has a selection of dishes including pizzas and pasta. There is a Spar supermarket right next door between the entry to the station and the hotel. There is a very nice breakfast included and the seating area is very extensive; so even if it was crowded, there were plenty of spaces to sit. All in all this was an excellent choice and I would stay there again.
XO Hotels City Centre is set in 10 monumental townhouses, around the corner from the lively Dam Square and Warmoesstraat area. It offers accommodation with flat-screen TVs and private bathrooms.

I had a pleasant one night stay for a work trip. The breakfast selection was superb. The room had everything I needed, including ironing board, fridge and plenty of hanging space. The lifts worked well and I didn't need to wait long, even at breakfast time. Shampoo, shower gel and conditioner provided in the bathroom were appreciated. The staff were delightful. Check in and check out was handled professionally and efficiently.

Very nice and friendly we were satisfied and the accommodation corresponded to our expectations.
Maybe one point for improvement - there was not facility for the waste separation (plastic, glass, paper) so we need to put all the waste together.

This place is amazing. It is very clean and cozy. The most comfortable and relaxing vacation ever. The owner is very friendly and helps with any questions you may have. If you want to escape city turbulence and also visit Amsterdam, this is the place to be. You can go to Amsterdam on public transportation, by car or take a bike which the owner provides at no cost. Den Ilp is a beautiful country area outside Amsterdam .
