My husband and I stay here most times when visiting Victoria Island. Everyone was amazing, as usual. From the owner to the cleaning staff, the service was exceptional. This is my go-to whenever we visit this area of Nigeria. The rooms are nice sized and decorative. The room service is great and the breakfast has many options and if you don't see what you like you can always ask if it's available. The bar has a good selection of mixed drinks, and I even created my own drink. Overall, I loved my stay here. Everyone is so kind and welcoming.

So for international travellers, best to go to, Lekki, V.I, Ikoyi, Stay in apartments resorts, or international hotel. i.e Fay Pads. Then look for a guide/driver which the resort can provide for you. Plan all your trips in advance and hold hard cash, not too much, don't rely on POS, due to network shortages. Once you're prepared there is way too much to do and see only in Lagos, wake up early, hit the roads and eat in restaurants, don't be tempted to eat on the roadside or drink pure water, as your stomach might be sensitive to how it's prepared. Don't wonder far away on your own, always let others know where you're going, use fly over bridges when crossing even if there are others not using it. Don't walk or travel at night if at all possible. When going to bed, do a final check of all doors and windows. Lagos is very sweet!

A city bursting at the seams.
A city bursting at the seams. Still struggling from years of neglect and underinvestment. Poor infrastructure, poorly maintained and no evidence that it is equipping itself to deal with the opportunities and challenges of the 21st century. That said, people are really friendly and cope remarkably well with the numerous daily challenges the are forced to contend with.

I did not like that the Immigrations Officers try to cut my holiday short by one day; of my visa allowed and Air Ticket time. Then expect me to pay more to get a Visa extension.
My favorite place was Shasha Lagos State. But Lagos needs great Improvement to be more attractive and safe also for tourists. They need to clean up the streets, paint the buildings and build better roads and guttering. To stop rain floods water and giant puddles settling in the roads.
All this can provide jobs for the locals. And make the roads safer for the Locals; and improve travel access for local businesses, when a major city and town have good roads. Making it much easier to travel around LAGOS. And making the roads free from accidents and also safer for the locals and Tourists visiting in Nigeria Lagos.
I stayed in an apartment and we did our own cooking. My husband sometimes bought cooked foods in the supermarket. We drank bottled or boiled water. Kekes can be fun to travel and nip around Lagos in, the and yellow mini busses. I also use Ubers, but I avoid traveling on motor Bikes.
I did not get to visit any of the national tourist sites mentioned here via point 6 below, on this trip. As it I came to get married and spend more of a quality time with my new husband.

The city of Lagos is located in a beautiful place, but it is very dirty and some areas, especially the old part of the city, are very dangerous for tourists. What shocked me the most was the situation when, during a police check, the policeman demanded money from me and the fact that only travelers were allowed to enter the airport and families were not allowed. Omnipresent controls that have nothing to do with ensuring security but only with difficulties and providing space for possible corruption of officials. Being forced to pay bribes at every step is unacceptable to me as an EU citizen. I liked the attitude of the people. They are smiling and positive despite the poverty that befalls them. They are constantly dancing and singing.
My recent stay at the caesars Hotel was extremely disappointing. Not only was the shower in my room non-functional, but when I tried to use it, dirty brown water came out instead. It was absolutely disgusting and completely unacceptable. Despite notifying the staff multiple times, the issue was never resolved. The lack of hygiene and maintenance in this establishment is appalling. I strongly advise against staying here until they address these serious issues.
My stay at Rhema Apartments in Lagos, particularly in the Nova room, was exemplary, highlighted by the courteous and pleasant reception staff, a professional manager, and helpful security. The Nova room itself was spacious, clean, and impeccably maintained, offering a comfortable haven in the bustling city. Overall, the exceptional service and accommodations at Rhema Apartments make it a highly recommended choice for anyone visiting Lagos.
The service from the staff was excellent. They listened and proved very helpful and attentive at all points of my time working there. The food from the restaurant was plentiful and delicious too. The entire place was kept very clean and to a very high standard. However... the biggest draw to the hotel was the strong WiFi and it did not disappoint. This might appear a small thing, but the hotel in Lagos don't often have the best WiFi.
On the top of my list of best stays in Lagos. The property manager, Mayowa is thoughtful and detailed. He made sure my check in was smooth. I really appreciate his responsiveness & kind nature.
The place is clean & comfortable, & the staff (Barnabas, Blessing, & Ifeanyi), made sure I had everything I needed.
I will definitely be back, & looking forward to booking again!
The lobby and the staff at the Lagos Marriot Hotel Ikeja are the wow factor.
The staff are incredibly courteous especially the housekeeping team. A real customer oriented team. They always provided fresh towels before you asked which was really convenient. The bar in the lobby area was also lovely especially for a nice cup of tea and muffins.
I love the exceptional professionalism of the staff and Management. The staff in particular were nice, helpful and pleasant. They are a credit to the Yacht hotel. The Hotel as a whole was clean and the ambiance was welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Lagos. I had a great experience. I will definitely be back here
My room was super clean and comfortable. I liked how I couldn't hear the cleaning staff wandering around in the morning, which is usually a problem for me in other hotels. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. I also enjoyed the view from my room. Overall, my stay was a nice little escape from the bustling streets of Lagos.
Glad I discovered this lovely hotel right in the heart of Victoria Island. The staff were very friendly, the facility is super clean and food is really good. Everyone was very supportive and they offered timely responses to all my needs. This is my new favourite place to stay in Lagos now, thanks for a very lovely stay.
The hotel was extremely well laid out, the rooms were very clean, the bed was wonderful. The Wifi and TV were both great. The most important thing was the hotel was wonderfully quiet. This was the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my many trips to Lagos and will be the only place I consider in the future.
Hotel ambience & cleanliness were great. I had my peace & quiet while I was there. The gym, room & view were great too. Frankly, it was nostalgic when it was time to leave. I wonder if other hotels in Lagos are this great... I just wonder...
The breakfast was amazing. Everything was hot fresh and delicious.
The hotel has good Asian restaurants inside. The interior of the hotel was very clean and classic.
My room was upgraded. Thank you!
Beautiful structure and decoration.
Delicious meals
Courteous staff and warmth reception
