The lakes are beautiful and the area is safe but interesting and quiet.
we drove to Las Nubes waterfall which took about 2.5hrs each way and was an beautiful drive which I recommend but you do go on an unpaved road for about 20-30mins

By the way we are from Canada. Booking com has a strange way of keeping track of their clients.
