The whole hotel is very central and has great views of the sea. The breakfast is always made to order and then food is always very good with very friendly waiters and waitress. Let's not forget the cleaning team who do a great job in keeping the hotel clean. This was our third visit and we would go every month if we could.

Simply put, Cozumel is for divers (or snorkelers).
Simply put, Cozumel is for divers (or snorkelers). It is one of the best dive destinations in the Caribbean. We've been visiting since 1981 (long before the cruise ships made it a regular, which I consider unfortunate because the cruise ship zone of San Miguel is indistinguishable for your typical cruise ship zone anywhere else, and has caused prices to be higher.)
If you're not a diver and just want to fiesta, Cancun is the place. The Mexican Riviera now stretches from Cancun to Tulum and has a number of all-inclusive resorts.

We had a fabulous time at Casa Del Mar and the surrounding amenities at the property.......pool, restaurant, lush grounds, beach nearby, etc. Our family had a reunion and many of us stayed at Casa Del Mar. The rooms were spacious, clean and ice-cold AC!
Many restaurants near the property within walking distance or a short taxi ride. We enjoyed the beach at the Monet Bar Beach Club. Great snorkeling, shore dives and tasty food. Lots of umbrellas and outdoor furniture to enjoy.

This is definitely a place to scuba dive - drift diving.
This is definitely a place to scuba dive - drift diving. I had only dove a few times before & got 15 dives while there including a night dive. This was just before a hurricane so could have been better weather but that is on me.
There are not really beaches to enjoy. Some of the hotels on the water have access to that water so you can get in and shore dive or snorkel but not a lot of beach (in the main area of the island.)
Lots of restaurants - I am vegan and had no problem finding food.
People are very friendly & not once did I feel uncomfortable (and I am a single woman who walked all over the place.)
The taxis are easy to flag down & inexpensive but some will try to get you so just be aware of the general fees.

K'ooben Laab You must eat there!!!
K'ooben Laab You must eat there!!! All their food is good and the one thing I regret was not trying their special until the last night. (Yes 4 meals there). Kondesa is another must experience. Great food, ambience, and live music. We did Buccanos for the day beach resort. Entry fee is applied to bar/food bill. Cozumel Sailing out of the north marina. They will give you a great day on the water. If the wind is good they'll get you a spinnaker ride! Check it out! The snorkeling is great! Easy to get around Island if you rent a vehicle or the Taxi's are easy and plentiful. Drivers are very nice and very helpful.

We stayed at the Barracuda twice. Once two weeks prior.
We stayed at the Barracuda twice. Once two weeks prior. This time it was because our booking at another resort was mishandled. I knew we would have just as a good, or better time if we spent the last 5 days at the Barracuda. We did. We enjoy being close to downtown for shopping and especially eating. We have two friends on the island that make for having a great time. This time we rented for one day a dune buggy. I went parasailing, my wife, snorkeling. We enjoy resting and taking int eh beach area of the Barracuda and the No Name Bar. As one staying there we received a 50% off our drinks and food if we paid cash (we did). Credit card still got you a 35% off. It was wonderful. When back in Cozumel, we will stay there from 1 to 4 nights anytime.

Since my first visit more than forty years ago, Cozumel has grown by an order of magnitude. I always consider it unfortunate but perhaps inevitable when the cruise ships find an island paradise. There follows all the same shops (tanzanite, anyone?) and price inflation, and for divers like us, it doesn't do the reefs any good. But Cozumel still has its charm. You can walk away from the cruise ship dominated centro and find a delightful town. Most of the Island is undeveloped and the windward side is fun to visit. Rent a jeep or a volkswagen convertible, grab your snorkeling gear, and spend the day swimming and snorkeling from a number of beaches. And of course the magnificent reefs that made Cozumel famous with SCUBA divers.

The hotel is a little isolated unless you rent a car or use taxi services to go into town, about 15 to 20 minutes away. Building works were ongoing in the old building which were noisy, luckily we were upgraded - had we not been we would not have been happy as had no warning of this when booking. We found the housekeeping staff and staff in most restaurants, and those on the beach, to be very friendly and most helpful
Nice place for short or long stay in Cozumel. This small hotel is located in the city center, not far from the ferry port, surrounded by restaurants, bakeries, cafes and moped/car rentals. The room is very cute with a comfortable bathroom, balcony, small kitchenette and fridge. Very comfortable bed. I was pleasantly surprised that the room was cleaned every day :)
The location was just splendid. It offered an amazing view of the sea with the possibility to go and swim with stingrays and other colourful fish from the hotel site right away. The staff was super friendly as well as flexible and they were always ready to answer any question we had. I would recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Cozumel.
This hotel is one of the, if not the best, hotel on the island. It's definitely the newest - very modern, clean, excellent pool and facilities, and amazing food from the restaurant that you can order from the pool. Good value for money. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Next time I go to Cozumel I'll definitely stay here again!
The breakfast was amazing and so was the staff. We had a great time on the beautiful island of Cozumel thanks to this extraordinary hotel. Thank you for this experience :)
