Breakfast was too expensive for the offering. CHILAQUILES is referred to as the poor man's breakfast. Only protein was scrambled eggs ... no meat offering of any type.

The pool was great. The shower head and water pressure were not great. It took a long time for the hot water to reach our unit. Location , very good. And Mary, the proprietor, was very nice and accommodating. Second time we've stayed there and we will definitely be going back. Forgot to mention the house keeping was excellent too.

Lots of instant hot water with good pressure. Great location with immediate access to the beach and to the main street's shops and restaurants. Our chambermaid was lovely and helpful always enduring that we had lots of towels.

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel del mar. It wasn't planned but we liked so much the area we decided to stay 2 more nights.
The lady at the reception desk has been very nice and professional.
The cleanliness of the entire hotel is undoubtable. The hotel is quiet and safe, just as the area.
I'm glad we found a place like this hotel to feel confortable and the price is much more affordable than other hotels in Barra de navidad, for a better quality and cleanliness.
Thanks again and surely I'll come back again next time

Barra is a small, friendly and safe beachfront town with many great eating and drinking establishments. You can walk to anywhere in town in under five minutes. Lots of music everywhere. There is a large marina and a nice little surfing spot at the south end of town. My wife and felt like some of the younger tourists and we are in our early 50's. Some of the spots we enjoyed
The Malecon at the south end of town.
The pastries at El Horno Francès French bakery
Beachfront sunsets and Margheritas @ Nachos
Paty restaurant for breakfast
La Bruja for good coffees
Señor froys for dinner.
The town square pop up market on Thursdays.
This is a great town to relax enjoy the ocean, drinks and people.
We walked to Melaque on the beach which took about 45 min to an hour, do this early, it's hot out there.
All the birds too!

It is a quiet little town with a great bay on the ocean.
It is a quiet little town with a great bay on the ocean. There are several nice restaurants and shops to choose from with a varied nightlife with music. It is a sleepy little place that we enjoyed for an evening and wouldn’t want to be there longer than a couple of nights. Some of the restaurants were quite expensive as were the shops. The town is going through a lot of construction due to impacts from the hurricane. Access to the beach was not easy as the stairs were damaged and dangerous. Various hotels have access to the beach and happily allowed us to use it.

My 5th stay in Barra and love it.
My 5th stay in Barra and love it. Great choice of restaurants and street vendors with amazing food - really happy that the couple who make and sell churros on the street each night are still there. Community feels very safe and is very friendly. Melaque is a short bus ride away and Freddi's at the junction for shrimp is a must. Barra is a 1/2 hour cab ride from the Manzanillo airport. Tourist population is mostly Mexican and Canadian.

Barra is a great little town with so much to offer different tastes. People are really easy to meet; it is a very friendly town. The music scene is fabulous. Every night there is great (usually dance-able) music, a lot of 70's rock 'n roll and jazz..Pickeball is very popular.Tennis and golf are nearby. There are lots of great restaurants, always with music and often on the water. The views around are gorgeous, mountains and sea...Excellent sunsets!..
