This town is attractive for Mexicans and there are nearby Maya towns. This is a place to experience life in Quintana Roo state like a local. Very few tourists come here and those who look for beaches and a fast party life will be bored. Recommended if you speak Spanish and want to meet locals.
This town is known for the "talking crosses" and was important during the Caste War in the mid 19th Century. IF you are interested in the Caste War, then come here and visit the shrine. There is a museum located 100 miles to the north in Tihuasuco.
