Our stay at Casa Mauna was excellent. The property looks exactly as it does on the pictures and was extremely well kept and maintained. The Vegan food options offered a lot of variety and the portions were ample, this included breakfast which was exceptional. The vibe was very chill and as I was travelling with 2 children so it was nice that the property was small enough that we could all freely and safely be around the rooms/restaurant/pool without needing to stay together the whole time. It was an easy walk down to the beach, which was beautiful and almost deserted. As with most places along the pacific it was not ideal for swimming but you could certainly bob about in the shallower parts. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodated all of our needs.

The host family was warm, welcoming and inclusive. They shared stories, mezcal, chapolines, and other traditional Oaxacan flavors. The beach, which we had to ourselves most times, had dramatic, thunderous, rolling waves. The property sits right on the beach and is set up with a variety of places to hang out and watch the ocean in comfort. Our faves were the beach hammocks and the infinity pool with built in seating. There is a super cute chapel on a little hill next door.

I'm so glad I did because my expectations were far exceeded. The hotel's relaxed vibe, private beach, and the freedom to fully embrace a naturist lifestyle without feeling out of place all contributed to a truly unique experience. Combined with the thoughtful and friendly service, it made my stay unforgettable. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return.
