The host is very friendly, the room is just fine, there is also a fridge in your room. The beach is very close. Basically it is in your “garden”. All in all we enjoyed our stay a lot.

Reonaldo was such an amazing host! He was so helpful and accommodating, making sure that we had everything that we needed. He even drove us to the bus station on our last day when we were having issues getting a taxi and were close to missing our bus.
The Cabaña was comfortable and clean. We had use of a fridge and facilities in the shared kitchen/bar. The beach was just across the road and was totally deserted - we felt like we were the only ones there! The Cabañas are a little bit of out the main town, but we had free use of bikes to get around. Celestún is such a beautiful and friendly little town. Definitely our favourite place during our trip. Make sure that you go on the mangroves boat tour - Alex was a wonderful guide!

The cabana is spacious, is as described / photographed. It’s super close to the beach and has a truly beautiful view out over the sea (and you can see the sunset over the ocean from the bed). Rodrigo gave us a warm welcome and seemed passionate about providing a good service. We didn’t end up using it but the room also had perhaps the largest flat screen tv I’ve ever seen! It was also a brilliant spot to explore the mangroves from - which are close by and unmissable.

The beach club was very nice. The staff was friendly and overall we had a great experience. We booked a full body massage and it was private in our room. The beach itself is very nice. The drinks and food are bit expensive.

I'm a birder, so experiencing the boat trip to see the Amerian Flamingos was unforgettable for me (and all the other birds of the Celestun area!!!) Also, Celestun faces west across the Gulf of Mexico, so the sunsets are beautiful. The town is an amazing cultural experience too. The people are wonderful. The LONG stretch of beach is quiet and clean. Motor taxis are everywhere if you don't have a car. See David at the coffee shop Casa Bacab for remarkable guided birding.

Celestun is not a pretty town, but its proximity to the mangroves and flamingos makes it special. (It's a Unesco site.) The beachside restaurants offer great seafood (coconut shrimp! ceviche!) and the prices are pretty good. Since they close down at nightfall, there are some good options in town around the main square. We didn't do a tour of the mangroves, since we had done that a few years ago, but that and seeing the flamingos are very popular activities. The beach is popular with lots of shells along the shore, and a lovely sandy bottom when you're in the water. We aren't big 'beach people' but we really enjoyed our stay and will come back again, I'm sure. We took a bus from Merida (very inexpensive at 68 pesos each way per person) -- lots of stops along the way, but the other alternatives are a rental car or a tour. This worked for us!

For birdwatching: Guardians de Los Manglares de Dzinintun.
For birdwatching: Guardians de Los Manglares de Dzinintun. We did the kayak tour and our guide Zac really enhanced our experience. When we spent the rest of the day on the beach, we could identify almost every bird we saw.
Get a big meal at one of the beachside restaurants around 3ish (my favorite was La Palapa), and then a small meal of tacos or tortas in the town square around 8.
It's important to know that the beaches are full of shells. A pro for some travelers and a con for others.

This place is paradise .
This place is paradise . It’s under developed yes but that’s part of its charm.
Wish there were a bit more facilities and better hotels around but at the same time nothing to fancy or big developments because it’s a conservation area so it really should be cared for and treated properly and with respect.
The nature there is outstanding . More of the right eco friendly investment in the area would make it a superb destination.
The flamingos and sunset are like nothing else I have seen before.

Celestun is a real Mexican town with mercado and cute main plaza ...some very nice restaurants on the sand at beach side, rather like being at a party! .EXCELLENT SEAFOOD ..There are pockets of rather dire poverty on the outskirts of town on the way to the Flamingo Preserve ...which you should do ....you can pay a moto taxi 100 pesos to take you out there, its a Gulf beach so that means little waves , so don't expect crashing surf! also fishing boats anchor in the same area as swimmers ,but no bother...great shelling and just strolling beach...water is not Caribbean crystal clear , but pleasant enough.... great safe beach for kids ...this what Acapulco must have been like a very long time ago!
Great place to stay in Celestun. On the more upscale side but worth what you pay for. Nice, clean beach in the garden, sunbeds, a swimming pool,... . A bit out of the center of town but we walked there in 10 minutes. We booked last-minute and stayed only one night but would have stayed an extra night if the weather forecast had been better. The owner and his son are very friendly and provide you with all kinds of recomendations. There is no breakfast available but upon request you can use cutlery to make your own.
One night stay in March. Nice large villa with rooms. We had two rooms with balconies overlooking the sea. Rooms were large with good facilities. There was secure car parking for our hire car. Very limited choice of accommodation in the local area and this was a good option. A short drive to see the Celestun pink flamingos and great to get there early for an early visit from which we then drove south to Campeche for our next night stay.
A wonderful property with a gorgeous pool and private beach access right out the back door of the house. It was immaculate inside and out and wonderfully quiet; there was zero hubbub typical of a resort. Everyone working and staying there was friendly and helpful. The kitchen was very well equipped. Any question or concern and host Rene was on it immediately. The sunset mere steps from the door is spectacular!
Breakfast was very traditional for this area of Yucatan Mexico. We ordered Chilaquiles and it was to saucy for what i am use to but i ate it all the same (did not order again). We normally don't have breakfast but tried the kitchen so that we could see what to expect. It was busy every morning and very convenient to have on site, so overall a plus to the hotel.
Very nice and new Cabañas that bring you a more authentic way of living with enough comfort. The owner, Reonaldo, is very helpful what to do in and around Celestun and has great recommendations off the beaten track. You can rent bikes without any additional cost. He speaks Spanish, English and Italian perfectly. Would definitely stay again!
Our host Wanda really made our entire trip Celestun. From the moment we arrived she was friendly and helpful — offering great tips and insights on how to make the most of our short time there. It was clear throughout our stay that our comfort and enjoyment was her #1 priority.
I’d definitely stay here again if/when I return.
Location! Right on the beach and just a couple of blocks from the main square. You can’t ask for a better location to stay. The administration staff was friendly and accommodating, the facilities are recently remodeled so everything is new and clean, the center courtyard is a cozy place to hang out.
The best hotel in Celestun for sure ! Great room with a front view of the sea, great private beach area by the public beach, great for swimming, and very peaceful,1 km walk on the beach to nice restaurants for breakfast, lunch or dinner just by the water
Wonderful pool
Highly recommended
Very basic hotel, but close to the seaside. The hygiene was average, although the beds were pretty alright. The hotel is fine if you want to stay for one night in a cheap place, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here for a longer period.
A friendly place with a nice and calm location in Celestún a few blocks from the beach and the bus terminal. Very good breakfast options. Most people go to Celestún to see the thousands of pink flamingos, and we agree, that is the USP.
The location is great - right on the beach. The rooms are simple but clean, the community space outside is cheerful and pleasant. Filtered water was provided, and (weak) wi-fi - but poor wi-fi seems to be the norm in Celestun.
The location on the beach in Celestun is amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. They provided freshwater and a refrigerator in the hall to store your food. Good breakfast at their adjacent restaurant.
EVERYTHING IS STUNNING!!! We totally loved it!! Julia and her family are amazing hosts!! Everything was so neat!! Definitely RECOMMEND IT!!! best place ever to stay at the beach 💕
Luxurious home. 3 ensuite bedrooms + another large bedroom with two beds + two other bathrooms. Right on the beach and in walking distance to restaurants. Comfortable beds.
Beautiful, elegant room what we got. Recepcionist speaks english. Parking was easy and safe. Place is 1 min from the beach! 3 mins from main square. Recommended hotel.
The ambience of the hotel was lovely. There is a little supermarket across the street. The room was quite big and had a fridge. Which was nice in the hot weather.
