Liberty Guesthouse Maldives, hotel in Mahibadhoo

Liberty Guesthouse Maldives provides air-conditioned accommodation in Mahibadhoo. Set on the beachfront, this property has water sports facilities, a garden, a terrace and free WiFi.

The warm atmosphere and the kindness of the staff and locals on the island of Mahibadhoo. It's a guest house on a local island, so it's not a luxury 5* resort. But you get the local vibes and for the price, it's 200% worth it. The location of the hotel, on the beach, is like nowhere else. There are plenty of exotic fish right in front of the hotel. You will have the calm and serenity that you will not find on any other island. Mahibadhoo is the perfect base to stay in the Maldives, so you can also visit the islands around, such as Dhigurah or Omadhoo. The diving experience was a major highlight for me. The instructor is very experienced and professional.

Turtle Maldives - Your Gateway to the Beach & Marine Adventures Await!, hotel in Mahibadhoo

Set in Omadhoo, Turtle Maldives - Your Gateway to the Beach & Marine Adventures Await! offers a terrace and free WiFi throughout the property.

Not big but well-equipped rooms. There is just a small window in the bathroom so you need to let the ventilation run to avoid the unpleasant humidity in the room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant for breakfast and another good restaurant just around the corner. It is easy to arrange other activities like fishing (which we enjoyed together with the desert island visit).

Scuba Inn, hotel in Mahibadhoo

Scuba Inn has a private beach area and a garden in Omadhoo. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant and 24-hour coffee corner.

Omadhoo is a fantastic island - a very cozy and home-like place, great for snorkeling. During low tide it's quite challenging to get to deepwater unless you have water shoes but once you do you can see sharks, stingrays, eagle rays, moray eels and other cool creatures. Besides, in the evening dozens of sharks come to the pier and can be watched from close distance.

Green Leaf Guest House - Omadhoo, hotel in Mahibadhoo

Situated in Omadhoo, Green Leaf Guest House - Omadhoo offers 3-star accommodation with a garden.

We have been on two local islands - Omadhoo and Hangnmeedhoo. I found Omadhoo a better place to stay, and this guesthouse, too. The owner spoke very good English (rather unusual in Maldives) and was super helpful. His first words were: 'no worries, take your time'. And it came out to be very true - no worries we had! And we had a great time there! Some highlights: a very good breakfast, a good lunch (hint: do not expect too much on a tiny island in underdeveloped country, it is not a resort). The owner offered to rent us snorkelling equipment at no cost. He showed us the best snorkelling spots, the tourists beach, explained the water current, the local rules and customs (remember that you arrived to a very conservative muslim country), warned about the sun (do not underestimate the sun rays!) I described not only the hotel but some of the the island features as well, because in so small neighbourhood everything is connected.

The beaches are unclean, there is a rubbish tip on Island also the people give you the impression that they no want you there, not a friendly place. There is a call for prayer five times a day, including 5 AM in the morning. It seems to me the boats do not work in the visitor's favor, Boats you could be waiting up to 6 hours if you are lucky for the information to be accurate you might, just might get there in 5 hours... The people will tell you as little as possible, research as much as possible and go with your gut instinct, happy traveling
