The host, Elena, she was very friendly and helpful. She advised us the route and places to visit depending on the wether conditions. Breakfast was amazing with homemade bread and jam (she always asked what would you like for breakfast and changed the menu). The apartment was also lovely and comfortable. The town is just a starting point for all sort of adventures, there's nothing to say about it - just hotels and restaurants, but the Black Lake is within a walking distance, and lots of other beautiful places are around.

There are plenty of options around for all kinds of levels. Be advised that crossing the national park from Sedlo to Žabljak over Bobotov Kuk is harder than what it seems on paper! That was my first hike there and I completed it but was really tired afterwards and did finish in the dark. The face of Bobotov Kuk that is in the direction of Žabljak is made of loosse rock and is quite steep. Bear that in mind.
Card acceptance is half and half, so bring enough cash just in case.
3 hiking routes recommendations:
1) Bobotov Kuk (choose based on your level and experience, and START EARLY!)
2) Chill stroll around the lakes (Black, Green and Brown) to let the legs rest
3) Planinica hike, beautiful views according to reviews (I had to turn back halfway due to rain, again, START EARLY).

The environment in Zabljak is overwelming. The mountains are stunning and beautiful. It’s great to walk/hike (bring sturdy shoes), but we also liked the rafting on Tara river very much. Expect no big rapids in summer, but it was a tremendous beautiful trip through the canyon. We loved it!

Zabliak is beautifully situated right next to the Durmitor National Park which is the main attraction - and to be honest - the only attraction. The place is not particularly beautiful and the many construction sites do not give reason to expect that it will soon become more beautiful. There are some restaurants that have adapted to the tourists, i.e. moderate service and comparatively high prices. The place markets itself as a hiker's paradise, but offers only comparatively few hiking trails. A big annoyance are the quads that drive around everywhere, even in the national park and can negatively affect the hiking holiday in the long term.
The Durmitor National Park is very beautiful and the drive on the Durmitor Ring scenic road is highly recommended.
The house is excellent - located close to Zabljak (though needs a car/bike), and situated in beautiful meadows with a stunning view over Durmitor. Likely a better view than many of the apartments within the centre of Zabljak. Hosts were very friendly, and it is excellent value for money.
The house is reasonably basic, so perhaps look elsewhere if you want modern appliances, but is exactly we wanted - rustic, functional, friendly, and a great base for exploring the national park.
Zabljak is breathtakingly beautiful and the apartment is really lovely, super new and clean. Beautiful view from the terrace. Sladjana and her brothers were very welcoming and kindly responded to all our questions and needs. The location is great, it's peaceful and it's close to the town and the trekking trails. I would recommend a walk around the lake or doing the Durmitor's ring panoramic tour. A great experience all in all, will for sure come back next year!
Really great place for the price - nice hospitable owners, a little bit off the city but thanks to this the place is more quiet (whole Zabljak is really quiet area tho), nice place to chill next to the house. It is rather simple accommodation but considering the cost it is great for a night or two. Also we ordered the breakfast - load of Montenegros specialities and a lil bit of Rakija is also included :) Definitely would recommend for a short stay
The family, the accomodation, the location,.. it was all amazing! The family is so sweet helpful, grateful,.. even not enough positive words to describe them. Everything is very local, also the breakfast, they make everything themselves. If you want to be in a little paradise near Zabljak (10min drive) and Durmitor National Park and want to feel the real Montenegro culture, don't hesitate and choose for this wonderful place and family!
The location of the house is amazing with a beautiful view to Durmitor and it is so quiet. We loved the house with all the nice touches and good beds. Every night we enjoyed the starry nights.
It is close to Zabljak if you need a supermarket.
And a special remark about the owners. They are the most friendly people. Their welcome with fresh fruit was heart warming.

Everything was of top standard, the house was lovely, clean and well maintained. It is in center of Zabljak, garden is beautiful and you can enjoy in silence. Jelena was exceptional host and made our stay memorable, including best and afordable food we ever ate in Crna Gora, also she made us pancakes and brought homemade juice. Room was really nice and cozy and bed is really comfy.
We stayed together in the house with the owner and the family. The room is cozy, clean and comfortable, and you are sharing the bathroom with other guests on the ground floor. The owner is super friendly and helpful who gave us lots of great hiking recommendations and tasty food spots in Zabljak. The also have a very friendly dog named Ari in the garden who is begging for pets.
Hosts are wonderful, ready to help. 💕Accommodation was very good, with two separate rooms, clean, warm and cosy. We were here with a baby, so we get an extra crib in the bedroom. Nature and surrounding are magnificent, and view from the terrace was breathtaking. We would definitely come here again and recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Zabljak. 😊
We had a great time at Rent-a-house Laki. the owners were super responsive on whatsapp ahead of our arrival in Zabljak, since we had many questions on transports. when arrived we were warmly welcomed with lemonade. The room was simple but very clean and sufficient for what we needed. I recommend this accommodation to anyone willing to visit Durmitor !
It's an exceptional apartment with wonderful views of the Durmitor mountains from the balcony and very well equipped. We had an amazing time, especially thanks to the very warm hospitality of the owners and their kids, who made us feel right at home. The apartment has private parking, with Zabljak and Durmitor National Park just a short drive away.
Beautiful, brand-new cabin that very comfortably fit 7. Big downstairs room with dining area, kitchen, and comfortable couch. Bedrooms had enough space and the balcony on one of them gives a nice view. The area around the villa is all new construction and it's close enough to Žabljak that driving to anywhere around will only take about 10 minutes.
The location of the property is amazing but what’s even better are the staff! It’s a family owned small hotel. Very clean, comfortable, Cosy! Would recommend for a couple or a family.

Amazingly beautiful, tranquil farm stay. The host family, who were incredibly friendly and welcoming has lived in the area their whole lives and gave a lot of fantastic recommendations for hikes in Durmitor National Park and restaurants in Zabljak. We will definitely come back when we come back to Montenegro.
The guest house is in a quiet part of Žabljak, near restaurants and not far from the little town. The location is perfect for visiting Durmitor National Park, Tara River, etc.

Lovely tiny bungalows with great views over the area. Out of the beaten track and 10min per feet to Zabljak center, as well as 20min to the lake.
Ideal for a view nights exploring the gigantic Durmitor-Nationalpark.
The bungalows were comfortable and well furnished. The location was also really nice -- a short drive from entrances to the national park and the town of Zabljak.
The apartment was clean and well managed. Facilities are completely new. It has a nice view from the porch and it's located in a peaceful place of Zabljak.
