We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Velsatis - we found the location perfect. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. Breakfast was really good too. Above all though Mohamed was amazing - he looked after us so well and was incredibly helpful with us for organisation. Beni Mellal is cute enough. The town seems chill and gives the right kind of Moroccan vibes. Since we went during Ramadan, eating wasn't much of a highlight: in the daylight hours we were forced to accept McDonald's drive-thru before heading out on a day trip, but that night we had pizza at Davinci Restaurant, which was surprisingly quite good (particularly if you're familiar with pizza in Morocco) and overall well managed.
The region is even more spectacular: drive over the mountain range to Bin El Ouidane (1 hour) and continue to Ouzoud Falls (1 hour more) via Azilal (about midway in between). Gorgeous terrain!
The host Mehdi welcomed me with tea and a smile. Despite our language barrier, we were able to communicate effectively. Mehdi offered suggestions on where to eat and answered all of my questions. Thanks for making my stay in Beni-Mellal a pleasant one.
