It has an interesting history, but to be honest there is not a lot to do or see in the city other than the derelict costal forts, post war rebuild is mostly industrial/commercial so there is very little "old town" left, I went off-season so most tourist sights were closed. I suspect in tourist season my view of the town would improve. There is a lot of potential in the north part with military history and a lot of grand buildings that have been left to ruin or ruined by soviet style concrete blocks. Needs sympathetic rejuvenation. Worth a visit but not a prolonged stay.

Liepaja is a "hidden gem" of Latvia! It has a wonderful, relaxed vibe. Food everywhere was delicious and fresh. The people seemed much friendlier than Riga. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect spot to spend a few days. There are also plenty of nature excursions to do in the area.

My favourite places: market, beach, before beach is excellent walking parks, good restaurants and a lot more things to do. We didn't enjoy the roadworks. A lot roads are closed, a lot traffic jams. We recommend to visit Liepaja City!!!

Liepaja has grown on me during my 2-day stay. It is a charming small city with lots of houses that have historical characters and special architecture. The beach is beautiful, clean, and very long shoreline.

I liked the free spirit of the inhabitants which contributed essentially to the development of the city today.
I love the warmth in the eyes of the people I've interacted with and those I've met on the street and crossed our eyes.
I like the mix of cultures living together.
I love the contrast between old and new that can be seen in the constructions.
I like that families have at least 2 children each, they are beautiful people in face and soul!
Very nice and cozy apartment located 5 minutes walk from beautiful beach.
In the apartment you can find almost everything you need plus some extras which you dont need yo take from home.
There is very long but but narrow balcony where you can spend your evenimg with glass of wine.
Neighbourhood really calm. Parking available in front of the building.
Host take care a lot to have good connection before travel and during check-in and out.
I highly recomend this appartment for stay in Liepaja.
I absolutely loved this apartment - it is stunning! it was also the best value apartment that I could find in Liepāja. It’s around a five minute walk to the centre and fifteen minutes to the seaside park and beach. It was very comfortable and cosy and very quiet at night. I felt safe in the area. There was Netflix available on the tv and a dolce gusto coffee machine! Probably the best thing about this apartment is the standalone bath!!! I felt like I was at a 5 star hotel!
Good location. Close to the park and the sea, to the center. The owners have provided the common areas with a lot of helpful instructions. The design and setting of the hotel has a modern, innovative approach. The room was of two parts, compact sleeping area and small anteroom with extra chest of drawers, a bed, a table with 2 chairs and TV set. We did not meet staff, as it's self check-in hotel, but I spoke with them over the phone and they were quite friendly.
Brivzemnieka apartment is fantastic place to stay. Apartment is located in quiet street in the heart of Liepaja, near Rose square. Perfect stay for 2 couples, we had two bedrooms with comfy beds and big closets. Guest room is fully equiped with kitchen and sofa. Bathroom has has nice shower and washing machine. As we stayed in hot weather, we where happy to have air conditioner ir apartment. Definetly will come back.
It was so nice to go into a room, where the window was opened. That was amazing! Usually hotel rooms are with stuffy and hot air. Shoe polish, hair cap for shower etc was a nice touch to the room. Stuff thinks about guests needs. A big plus is that hotel offers room service with food. Staff was so polite. Thank you, Amrita Hotel, for the stay.
Overall wonderful experience. The room was super nice and bed - comfy. Spotless clean, with all the necessary amenities. There were even a mini shoe shine sponge and sewing kit! The breakfast included wide variety of foods and everything was fresh and delicious. I will definitely come back as this was my best hotel experience in Liepaja.
Extraordinary stay, beyond excellent. Our entire family of six, including a family members' pet, thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. Wished we could have stayed longer. Almost all in the family agreed that it was the finest hotel they may have stayed. Room amenities galore and nice products.
