We stayed in the executive suite with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and couldn’t fault our one night stay at all. The secure garage parking for our motorcycles was a bonus and the location was perfect with a short walk to the river and restaurants. We didn’t have the breakfast option instead indulged in a pastry and coffee at the bakery down the hill. The room was enormous with a separate lounge area and the staff were more than helpful.

- The hostel was easy to find and well deserved by different bus lines
- I had the full room for myself during my 4 nights stay
- at some point I was the only one in the morning for breakfast and the canteen lady simply asked me what I wanted and bring it to me
- Good heating system
- decent bed
- The view from the window
- Good WIFI
The area is fantastic for a motorcycling holiday. You can get there easily in a day, just use the autoroutes for the first couple of hours to get past the boring bit of France and Belgium. The roads in the area are really good for riding, very good surface, no gravel, all types of bens - fast sweepers to hairpins. The town is very bike friendly. Restaurants stop serving early - apart from Fuku Chines (well worth a visit).

A lovely place to visit for a number of reasons - attractions, hiking, dining etc. Easy to get to but within the town can be hard to get around because it is on a hill. Riverside area is really relaxing.

Fantastic location in the heart of the Ardennes.
Fantastic location in the heart of the Ardennes. Obviously, in times past an important strategic crossing point for the River Our. Plenty of architectural history and the "Disney land" chateau overlooking the town.
Most of the time. its a quiet medieval town, but walnuts are a important part of the local economy, and the second weekend in October is the annual walnut festival. They close the historic town centre on Sunday and the town goes mad, with thousands of visitors. So if you want a hotel room that weekend make sure you book early.

It's a pity the crisis has left its mark as a few places now seem to be closed. On the whole, though, it is still a lovely town, very picturesque and, if you have time, do not forget the castle.
By the way, the Du Pont restaurant is a cheap but good place to eat and has a lovely view of the river and the bridge.

The castle has a good structure and artifacts to see. I miss of one access to see the Vianden city on the top, cause this is blocked on the way.

A really beautiful and quaint little village.
A really beautiful and quaint little village. The castle is well worth the trip. A really informative, self guided tour. A very enjoyable way to spend a few hours. Vianden itself is a photographer's dream. Just so scenic and peaceful.
I would say the second culprit of the Vianden (the first one is obviously the castle) is definitely the Victor Hugo hotel - it's in the heart of the town. The hotel is a part of the towns identity and it has a really long history. The hotel manager was exceptional - really friendly and nice, we were in good hands. The view from the room's window was magical, because we could see the castle. The beds were comfy, the room was spacious, really clean and we could park the car (for free) very close from the hotel!
I loved the place for 2 reasons :
1) the fantastic view over the castle
2) the simple style of hostel brought me back to old school days. Old beds and common shower (gender separated of course) like in old days. Not many places left where you can get this feeling.
Also, there is friendly staff, they told me which restaurants have reasonable prices and they let me deposit my luggage at lunchtime.
Great breakfast buffet.
Cheapest option in a small town which has mostly expensive hotels only.
The location of the cottage is beautiful. On the hill overlooking Vianden only a 15 minute walk from the city center (a walk which initially looks more steep and challenging then it actually is)
The cottage is very well equipped and was very clean. Although the location is slightly remote, it was very easy to find. The owner is very pleasant and friendly.
If you want to go and explore Vianden and it's surroundings for a few days, We would definitely recommend staying at the Vianden cottage.
The room itself is clean, big, we liked it. We paid 8 or 9 euros for a dog. Good view from the windows, which are many in the room. There is a cafe on the ground floor, but we didn't eat there. The hotel has a car park, but it is small, but there is another car park of this hotel further down the street and there were places. In principle, this hotel is very suitable for companies, for families with children. A small town, there is where to take a walk, also there is a castle in the near.
as always, Andre and his team provide a fantastic welcome and brilliant hospitality. lovely room and secure parking for my motorcycle too. food is the best in Vianden and I’m already looking forward to my next stay. I always book here as either my first night away when travelling in Europe or my last night when coming home.
Vianden is a delightful little town and was matched by the hotel. we were given a warm welcome on arrival. the room was excellent with a fabulous view over the gardens at the rear.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
I would recommend both vianden and this hotel to my friends and family.
The restaurant downstairs was really great with delicious dinner and breakfast. The staff was nice. The bed was comfortable and the toilet was clean and spacious. It was conveniently located almost next to the vianden castle. Overall I'm very satisfied and the value is exceptional.
Our third time here, always a friendly welcome.
Good sized room and immaculately clean
Large comfortable bed
Right in the middle of Vianden and an easy walk to the castle
Fabulous pizzeria
Did Booking.com in the morning. When I came there the hotel was closed! Nobody answered phone calls. Locals said it was something strange with the place.
