Had a great welcome from Fabrice and all of the staff were excellent. Bandara makes wonderful meals. Especially recommend the flambé bananas! Nice breakfasts set us up for the day. Lovely to sit and listen to the birds and watch monkeys in the trees. The rooms were comfortable, clean and perfectly sufficient. There is also the option to sit outside and take in the forest. Nice and quiet at night. We had a great few days.

what an amazing property. we were thoroughly looked after and nothing was too much trouble. the food was exceptional. we wanted traditional Sri Lankan curries and that’s what was prepared for us with spices and fresh herbs and vegetables from the garden. the rooms were huge. the gardens and views were stunningly beautiful and so quiet except for the sounds of the birds and monkeys. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻💕

We stayed in the cabana (which on bookings is the quadruple room). It was perfect. Away from main hotel, an attractive wooden chalet with a wrap around balcony. Folding doors open fully to the balcony from the front of the room with views down the valley. The sound of the river below was great as we watched the sunset. Room was very clean and if you need it, there’s a fridge, microwave and preparation area for food. We ate at the hotel, food was good. Hotel staff were all very lovely and helpful. Nothing too much bother. We were dropped by a lovely driver, Amila, who is based in Anuradhapura but prepared to travel. He was with us for 3 days between Wilpattu and the Riverbank. Highly recommend. He really looked after us and we saw lots we otherwise would have missed. He was a very safe driver, kind and respectful of our privacy.
