I will tell anyone coming to Sri Lanka - stay with Ravi at Margosa Mountain Villa. Best stay on our trip and top 5 lifetime. Stunning setting. Perfect room. Delicious food -organic rice, fruit, fish etc. right from the property, expertly cooked by Ravi’s wife Sewwandi. Pool is sublime. Birds galore (and easy to find and ID with Ravi’s help). Booked for two days. Stayed for 4. Great spot for excursions Dambulla, Sigiriya, and beyond, but we were happy just to relax and meditate on our good fortune to be there. Ravi spent 23 years as tour guide and it shows both in his care and expertise. I know this review sounds like a plug from one of his friends but I promise that 5 days ago we’d never met. But, yes, we have definitely made a new friend. Stay as long as you can.

We only stayed here one night, but from the minute we arrived we wished we were staying longer. The property and land is absolutely stunning, and you can’t meet a nicer person than Pradeep. He really went out of his way to make my family feel welcome, and was so sweet with my kids. The room was so comfortable - strong A/C, modern bathroom, really comfortable beds and very clean. The kids loved showering outside, going on walks, relaxing in the hammocks, looking for the dog. The dinner and breakfast was delicious and overall just a really lovely stay. Thanks, Pradeep!!

Everything: the room is very comfortable, clean and pretty, the location is 5-10min away from the cave temple in a very calm area with an amazing view on the mountain, dinner and breakfast were really good, the host is amazingly friendly and very caring. He brought us some snack before dinner, we discussed a couple of hours during very tasty and generous dinner, we tasted bananas and coconuts from the « garden », he took us on a tour of his « village ». A memory that we will for sure keep with us back to France.
