I recently stayed at Grand Rockland in Matara, Sri Lanka, and it was great. The location is excellent, and the hotel is very well maintained. It’s perfect if you enjoy social and party vibes. Our room was wonderful, especially the private outdoor garden. The staff were friendly and made us feel very welcome. I also liked the antiques displayed around the hotel. The restaurant offered a range of tasty options, including Sri Lankan, Chinese, and Indian dishes, as well as delicious pastries. The night atmosphere was calm and relaxing. One of the best parts was the boat ride arranged by the hotel. We saw crocodiles, birds, and beautiful islands in the river. Overall, I had a great stay at Grand Rockland and would definitely recommend it.

With one wall of glass in the room, along the terrace, the room is bright and airy. Rooms feel pretty new. I ended up extending my stay twice, I was so comfortable there. The direct access to the turtle point beach was lovely. The staff were great and very attentive, even noticing that I had hurt myself and coming to help. Definitely recommended!
