We would high recommend the company “BOAT SAFARI IN KOGGALA” as a fab & knowledgeable company to do a boat trip around Koggala lake. They were so knowledgeable about plants, wildlife and the islands. A fascinating 2 hrs. We would definitely recommend. They can organise tuk tuks to get you there and back also.

Ahangama town has changed from a very busy fishing village to a hotspot in the south of Sri Lanka. And that at a rapid pace. There are many new and good restaurants, parties on the beach or in rooftop bars. The quiet time is over. For travellers seeking peace and quiet, the inland of Ahangama is more suitable. But here, too, there is a tendency towards more posh hotels with DJs in the evening and overpriced food and coffee - unfortunately.

Ahangama is a totally calm and peaceful and crowed less seashore metropolis with majestic palm trees all round it. there is no sound apart from the waves hitting the shore and swaying of the timber making it ideal for a chilled holiday.
A small city in Southern Province, Ahangama is a mystery treasure in Sri Lanka. recognized for its pristine beaches, glowing waters, and picturesque landscapes, this town is indeed one of the maximum beautiful ones in the united states. although it isn't completely developed, it's far effortlessly available thru Galle, a first-rate metropolis that lies only 20 minutes from Ahangama. This metropolis, being the epitome of serenity, is certainly one of the right getaways within the country.
Ahangama overlooks the cultured Weligama Bay, that is a occurring place within the town. The famous tuk-tuk takes passengers from the primary city to the Bay. Weligama is the significant surfing spot, browsing being one of the predominant points of interest of Ahangama. apart from browsing, Wellingama offers beachside stores, restaurants, shacks, and bars.

Ahangama was epic! We stayed at a spot called Tharanga surf villa. Seriously great location on a great beach that has waves for all skill levels of surfers. You can hire a board or get a lesson through the hotel even if you like. The breakfasts are incredible and give you a taste of local cuisine. The room is comfortable and all you need - the aircon is a big plus! When the power goes out in the area they have a generator so that’s cool. The people who own and run it are so friendly and helpful. Try hire a scooter to get around to all the different beaches if you’re staying for a while. There are loads of places to eat - try the local places they’re cheaper and their food is super tasty! We ate at a variety of local places and got Kotu and curry. Don’t go to the western owned places and pay triple the price! Try a little spot on the beach just past Open Heart cafe (which also has a great view at sunset) I don’t know the name unfortunately.

Ahangama is a busy town within 30 minutes drive to Galle, Galle Fort or Unawatuna to the North, and to Midigama, Weligama and Marissa to the South.
So many restaurants/bars within and close to Ahangama, often with live music.
Tuk tuks are cheap and taxis easily available for longer drives.
What an amazing place! it’s location is incredible! When you arrive, you are greeted with a welcome drink, refresher towels and a back and neck massage if the masseuse is free. The service is incredible and you feel immediately like you’re on holiday. Yes, the rooms may seem very old school and not modern but that’s not the look this hotel is going for. They keep the Sri Lankan way of living and style and incorporate it into the rooms. The beds are very comfortable and overall the service is a absolutely fantastic!!!
The room itself is a beautifully crafted wooden dream in a cinnamon jungle a slice of paradise in nature the staff are absolutely amazing a family run business with such beautiful souls this is the perfect place to stay for some reconnection to the earth and some privacy in the calm. Staying at this little oasis was an absolute delight close enough to town and the beach but far enough away to enjoy some real relaxation and tranquility don't miss out on the gem of ahungama Sri Lanka must stay!!!!!!
The room is nice and spacious and has airconditioning. We extended our stay twice! The host family is incredibly nice and helpful. They helped us get a scooter and treated us with coffee and sweets!
Location is perfect, two minute ride to the beach and centrally located between Galle and Mirissa. The room is next to a school which you can hear in the morning. But with ear plugs it’s no bother. Would definitely stay again! This has been our best stay in the whole of Sri Lanka :)

Everything! The location was glorious - right on the beach and all rooms had views of the water. The villa was designed so well - a very modern or elevated Sri Lankan aesthetic - and the host went out of her way to help us with dinner or taxi reservations, tour bookings and so much more. It was honestly the best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka in all of our visits here. Stay here - you will have the best time.

Manu and the crew were super responsive and helpful. Wifi was the best i have seen in sri lanka outside co-workings. It is super quiet and only walking distance from the beach and all the eating and party places. They also arranged yoga and surf classes as well as the airport drop. We felt truly unrushed. Highly recommend!

Beautiful hotel accross a picturesque beach. The rooms are spacious and so comfortable. The staff are super lovely and attentive. The food is beyond delicious. Was able to try traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Overall the best hotel in Sri Lanka. Totally recommended. I would rate it 20/10.
My stay at Mermaid Beach was something to remember, Guwan and his family really create an amazing experience here. Great value located in Ahangama with close access to everything in the area. The view from the room and the breakfast table is the cherry on top. Recommend 10x over.

very cute family fun hotel with a big outdoor area where you can chill in the sun. you can easily start a walk on the beach from there and different restaurants are close by. everybody was really friendly. the room was comfy with a nice balcony and big shower in the bathroom.
Loved the vibe of the hotel. Minimalist surfer casual. I especially love that they're so eco-conscious. The staff are awesome - friendly but they keep a distance. Food and drinks are DELICIOUS. The rooftop bar has an awesome chilled vibe and is THE place to catch sunsets.
Amazing yard with beautiful big clean pool. The house is uniquely designed with charming spots. Breakfast was great and Aslam and team were very nice and welcoming. Beds are comfortable with nice sheets and a real blanket which we didn’t have in other hotels.
Super friendly family, loved staying in a neighborhood off the main tourist drag in Ahangama. The room was very comfortable even without ac. The fan and windows allowed plenty of cooling. The guest kitchen is great to have (tho I didn’t have time to use it).
