The people that work there were great, the food and drinks were very good and the prices reasonable. They do have a pool, which we missed among the pictures 🙂
Though the hotel could use a bit of renovation we loved our time spent there and would come again.

The resort could be amazing because genuinely authentic Khmer habitat.
But off season I do not recommend it was deserted and poorly maintained.

Large, clean room with a comfortable bed. Nice location right on the riverfront and there are a few decent restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk.
Water for the room was in refillable glass bottles instead of plastic which was a nice touch.
Able to pay by card on arrival.
Located 200 metres from public bus station, Silver Dolphin Guesthouse & Restaurant features accommodations with views of Mekong River and the on-site restaurant on the rooftop.

It's the perfect stay to get to know Cambodia. The family is super friendly and you wake up in the more rural cambodian life. It was the most authentic experience i had during my trip.
You can also book tours (the local tour is great and i learned many things about local food production)

Excellent guesthouse in a lovely restored old building - the guesthouse is really close to a night street food market which is great for dinner. The rooms are very clean and have both fans and air conditioning. Overall it is the best guesthouse in Kratié - it is close to the river and market but a little outside the main city area which means it is very peaceful and more full of local life.
Nestled within lush greeneries of Kratie, Arun Mekong Guesthouse is a convenient 10-minute walk from Wat Chong Koh Pagoda and Kbal Koh Pagoda. It operates a 24-hour front desk and offers free parking....

Unless you want to see the dolphins I wouldn’t bother with Kratie. The town offers nothing but the dolphins for tourists. The markets are only really for locals and the eating options are very limited.

The town has a great market and walking along the riverside is fun. There is not much action on Grab/PassApp, but everything in town is walkable anyway.
The dolphin boat ride was beautiful and exciting! The locals seem to really care about the dolphins and the boat driver knew exactly where to find them.
I don't usually go on tours but I am glad I went on one in Kratie. There are some neat things around the area that we never have discovered by just looking at the map. I would recommend hiring a local guide to take you.

Lovely city, we stayed there on our way to Sen Monorom and I am pleased we stopped there. We went to see the dolphins and the temple on the hill. We also went to the island with the boat, it was great as there were a lot of people due to a holiday. It's not a big city, so it's easy to get around by foot. People are very friendly.

Spend 1 or 2 days in Kratie to kayak and see the dolphins.
Spend 1 or 2 days in Kratie to kayak and see the dolphins. The route down the river to the dolphin sighting area is simply gorgeous. Do stay at the Silver Dolphin Guesthouse and Restaurant as their rooms are value-for-money and their food is great. Make sure you engage Dolphin Kayaking Adventures as the guide, Lucky, is very friendly and experienced. You will definitely get to see Dolphins and much more if you sign up for his tour.

Try to spread the business and go with a local tuctuc driver. I met a nice one with good english who showed me the wole area and told me all the different stories of the sites. He also gave me a great introduction into khmer street food
Amazing little hotel in the most surprising location - literally in the middle of a wet market in Kratie. LOVED the decor of the place, which is full of treasures collected by Alex, the owner. He has transformed a very old, dilapidated building into something incredibly unique and creative. Service was friendly and warm- felt like we were staying with old friends. Only Khmer food but super fresh, tasty and of excellent quality. Our room was so spacious and had a lovely little terrace overlooking the market.
Everything looks exactly as it is on the photos, including the ugly wall of bricks in the room. Sorya provides probably the best bikes of all Cambodia to rent! It was really nice to have finally some suspension on our bikes :)
Family run guesthouse where they really care about your stay. Great location and they offer a brilliant dolphin watching experience which is great value, plus all the money stays with local people
Super quiet, thé location and place is amazing.
The staff is super nice and helpful.
The restaurant is very good and prices are within normal range for Cambodia.
