I think this can be a very good place for many people, but it did not quite fit our bill. The place is clean, the abundant beautiful plants in the verandas are very attractive. The superior room we had was spacious but too stark for us (no chair, no table, just beds and lots of shelves, and no windows with some view). This was a work/vacation stay for me and I needed to be able to work. But the room could really be fine for other guests. Thomas was also very helpful when I forgot my bag and glasses upon leaving after one night.
There are two motorbikes to rent. Bikes cannot be used for more than a one km or so. Do not count on them for longer exploration.
Nestled in a peaceful countryside of Kampong Cham, Hanchey Bamboo Resort offers accommodations with an on-site Bamboo Restaurant and an outdoor swimming pool.

If You have 24 hours in Kampong Cham, You should visit Wat Hanchey (20 km to the north), a nice Wat with great views over the Mekong.
Wat Nokor, a few kilometers west from town is an ancient temple, which is still in use today. It is more “real” and alive than other ancient sites in the country.
Visit the French Lighthouse at sunset: great views over the city’s skyline (open 24 hours, no entrance fee, but the stairs to the top are not suitable for people with fear of heights.)

It's very calm and relaxed compared to Phnom Penh and therefore makes for the perfect escape! There is enough to do with in terms of sight seeing but honestly it's a great place to just unwind for a few days. PassApp is available - making it easy to get around, or you could rent a bicycle/ motorbike as its quite small.

we hired a great driver who took us to see rubber factory which was most unusual. He was a bit naughty in overcharging us for onward tickets, however due to time restraints we had little choice but to pay
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The place was really peaceful and even though the hotel is 17 KM away from Kampong Cham there is plenty to do. You can relax by the pool or use their Lotus Hall for yoga. We borrowed bicycles to ride the village around the hotel and took a boat to see the sunset from the beach on one of the nearby islands. One night, the hotel staff invited us to create flower arrangements with them. That was a great opportunity to talk to the staff.
The property has a beautiful light in the morning. The rooms are very basic but that reflects in the price! The host organised us bikes, a taxi and was always around if you needed something. The food was tasty and a good price too. We had a really great stay here and extended it an extra night. Cycling around Kampong Cham was really lovely.
Also the WiFi was really great (online meetings passed without a delay).
The owner was really nice and friendly. He cooked great food for dinner and helped us book a bus to kampong Cham. We were also able to rent his bikes and use them to cycle around the town. It's the perfect place to unwind and experience rural life in Cambodia.
Also wasn't too bad with mosquitos.
This was a very nice hotel for the Kampong Cham area. Our room was large and had a great view of the river. The hotel appeared to be older and some of the furniture and finishes are quite worn. The bed was comfortable and seemed clean, the staff was very helpful and friendly.
The hosts are friendly and it's a nice comfortable place to stay. The room is big and the bathroom is clean.
It wasn't near the city centre which meant we got to explore the local area. There's a nice market nearby with some good food if you want dinner or snacks.
Love the room with the view of Mekong River. The hotel has its own skybar with great view too! Best to come for sunset drinks ;). The hotel has Friendly staffs and good service. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay. Will be back there again on our next visit.
Amazing structure in bamboo, designed with a great style. Many beautiful flowers and plants and trees and birds everywhere!
Yoga sessions at sunset and sunrise were stunning
Last but not least, the best customer care ever in Cambodia!
Absolutely exceeded expectations. Great food, host and beautiful surroundings. Simple rooms but exactly what I was looking for. Love Kampong Cham and love Natural Bungalows. Will come again soon. Don't hesitate to book here.
The staff is great and helpful and it's possible to get a scooter what is necessary as it is a bit far from the city center. With a motorbike, it's ok. The room was comfortable and the hotel clean and welcoming.
The rooms are quite large. Bikes are available for rent. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is outside of the city, but was in a lively market area anyway. Would definately come back again.
Clean room, nice facilities and a very helpful owner. Could rent a bike to go around town. The property is located around 2kms from Kampong Cham town. Really nice location in the countryside.
Sweet and very helpful family.
Clean, spacious and comfortable room.
Scooters and bicycles for rent at a very good price.
We stayed twice and would stay again if we come back to Cambodia.
An affordable choice for budget travel. Do not expect much from it, though.
A bit far from downtown, so you better consider it since the neighbourhood is not English-friendly.
