The room is very large and comfortable. They provide drinking water and toiletries. There's a TV but I didn't watch it so can't comment on the availability of channels. There's plenty of restaurants for good food, shops and atms nearby. The hotel is a 1 minute walk to the bus offices. The tuk tuk driver who offers tours here is great and is very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly.

The interior design was very impressive, with authentic Khmer furniture. The AC was strong and the extra fan helped the ventilation. Water temperature was pleasant. And they have 2 very cute small dogs.

Battambang has changed a lot since I've been here way back in 2018. There's a beautiful promenade that is inviting for walking, jogging or strolling. There's also a spanking new road that leads to the city from Phnom Penh. Never experienced any bumps along the road.

A relatively untouched area of Cambodia, still retaining colonial charm. It lives in the past to some degree, and is the antithesis to the mish mash of Phnom Penh development.
The riverside is still the place to stroll or even exercise, and the surrounding countryside is lovely, with nice views from some of the higher locations.
I ate at the homes of Khmer friends, and we had driven up from PP, so getting around was as easy/difficult as any journey on overcrowded Cambodian roads!

Not one of the top travel spots yet.
Not one of the top travel spots yet. Battambang town doesn't stand out as anything special compared to other places in Cambodia. It doesn't really have anything special, and is very dusty all around.
However, it is ideal for a day trip (max 2 nights) from Siem Reap if you have time.
There are unique experiences that are on the outskirts of town :
1/ Bamboo Train (touristy but still good enough. especially if you can manage to beat the tourist vans in the morning, then it's just you on the train (train ride is about 15 mins each way)
2/ Killing Caves (get there at about 4-430pm, stay for about 30 mins)
3/Bat cave (super cool experience, stay there only for about 30 mins max in the evening

Gave a good feeling of real-life in Cambodia, away from the tourist crowds. The town has a fine old french colonade along the river. Very beautiful. The local market is worth a visit.
Highly interesting are the temples in the surroundings, ex the Banan temple. A visit to some of the commemoration sites also outside the town showing the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge in the nineteen seventies, is a must not to forget what happended.

Visited Battambang and surrounding area's with "Battambang Nicky's tours", a local English spoken guide that is very helpful and super attentive.
I do recommend him as your guide, he made it into a visit not to forget!
Saw the countryside, rice harvest, families, temples, batcaves and many more.
Just enjoy it!
Muni hotel is simply perfect. Everything, from the very beginning and the way Lay (the owner) is welcoming you, to the very end of your stay, is absolutely top notch.
First quality furniture and equipments, and, not to forget, lots of services available (Netflix, transfers, ...).
Let me mention also Soon, the driver who was suggested and booked for us by Lay to drive us around Battambang... He is just Amazing, speaks perfect english and is super knowledgeable about the city and the surroundings.
So, long story short: BOOK HERE!
A family hotel, in which everyone speaks English and try to make your stay lovely.
We stayed just for one night, our room was big and very economic. The location is very good, right next to a big market and several restaurants and cafes. They helped us find our way round and made all the communications to go to Bangkok. The manager even came to the bus station to make sure everything was going smoothly. The 2 years closure during COVID felt that was hard but it seems that they recover fastly.
Central to the main area. The hotel is old and everything in it is old making it like a film set which looks nice but is less practical when staying in it. Its not dirty but it’s shabby. We loved it but if you are after luxury it’s going to disappoint. The pool area is wonderful and was empty when we stayed. staff are friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was good and the service was good. We used the driver that collected us from the bus to take us on tours he was amazing
The Hotel is very good located and the owner cares about their guests. The pick-up from the bus station worked perfectly. For excursions we can recommend the tuk tuk drivers from the hotel. The furnishings in the rooms are functional, the bed was very comfortable! As a farewell we received a present - thank you very much.
If you fancy a good Italian wood-fired pizza, we can highly recommend Pizzeria Claudio Battambang.
This is a small charming hotel with lush gardens. Rooms are individual bungalows with small outdoor spaces. If you are looking for a quiet hotel with friendly staff and a good restaurant, you will like this place. However, don't expect the wifi to work well in the rooms or for a fancy bathrooms. The rooms are very basic and rustic. The best part of this hotel is the friendly staff and the lush gardens.
It's certainly different of any guesthouse/hotel, I've ever stayed in. I'd the best sleep in days due to the peaceful and quiet location. No cars or motorbikes' noise. But what really makes this place great is the owner. He goes out of his way to help you in anything you need. He's the kindest person I met in Cambodia. I would come back again.
The rooms are big and very comfortable with clean private bathrooms. The pool is fantastic and the menu/bar is great, you get a good serving of food for reasonable price. We stayed with our 3 small dogs and the staff were really nice, sometimes we have problems but not at the Blue Diamond. Highly recommend this hotel in Battambang.
It was à perfect experience with Essaro and his family. He helped us to come to its homestay, had dîner and breakfast (vers good meal made by his wife) with us sharing cambodian stories. He made us a tour around battambang and its caves, bambou train, suspended bridges, boudhist temple and so on!
Thanks again Essaro !
A very nice option in the outskirt of Battambang, surrounded by greeneries, in a quiet area. The whole hotel is well-designed, well-maintained, and the staff is efficient, reactive and friendly. The rooms by the pound are beautiful, and the swimming pool is perfect. Several options of breakfasts with fresh bakeries.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. They were also SUPER helpful. The hostel has a great location and I booked a cooking class with them and it was one of my favorite experiences in Cambodia (Nary Cooking Class). The rooftop was also a nice place to hangout and unwind. It was social without being too much.
Located in a lesser known part of the town the hotel was really a tropical corner. Beautiful garden but beware of mosquitoes.
The staff was friendly and even arranged for a taxi all the way from PP airport to Battambang at 00:00. And from Battambang to Siem Reap. They go out of their way to help their guests.
The best swimming pool not only In Battambang but Cambodia the staff were super friendly and it was my sons birthday and they did a special dinner and cake the only sad thing was it was only one night but we will be back that’s a promise for at least 3 nights it was that good well done to all the team
Little gem away from the centre of Battambang. French colonial villa with gorgeous lush gardens and swimming pool to unwind in after a day of sightseeing. Shabby chic added to the charm. Lovely staff and good breakfast. Great cocktails! Charming French host and owner.
I was very pleased by how clean my room was. I usually avoid hotel blankets but the blanket and towels here were clean, freshly washed. The room was clean, bright & spacious. Great for the price the food really good. I highly recommend!
Hotel is very clean and comfortable. It is not located on the side of the river where the old part of town is but on the other side. This is the side you want to be on. Next to the Riverwalk which is highly entertaining in the evening.
we cannot imagine being treated any more like royalty than we were here, The personal touch on everything they did was incredible, the room was well appointed and cozy, you might have the best mattress in Cambodia,
Staff really nice and welcoming, big room, hotel quite new, comfortable bed, good breakfast (no buffet, there is a menu where you can choose among different Cambodian and international options)
It's a cozy room with a nice bed a great AC. The hotel has a nice, shaded pool and the hotel next door has an amazing Restaurant. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful.
