Beautiful, charming, friendly: just a perfect stay. Mattress was too hard to my taste but I asked and they provided a topper and all was then perfect again.

The room is very large and comfortable. They provide drinking water and toiletries. There's a TV but I didn't watch it so can't comment on the availability of channels. There's plenty of restaurants for good food, shops and atms nearby. The hotel is a 1 minute walk to the bus offices. The tuk tuk driver who offers tours here is great and is very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly.

Pretty much loved everything! Family running it are so kind and helpful. They helped us organise trips/best ways to get to attractions, and they even brought us some free food which was so kind. The rooms were super modern and really clean - bedding was super soft/Western style rather than the thinner ones we were given elsewhere in SE Asia. Location was super quiet and peaceful too so we slept well - like a 10-15 min walk into the centre. Bed was comfy. AC was decent.

A relatively untouched area of Cambodia, still retaining colonial charm. It lives in the past to some degree, and is the antithesis to the mish mash of Phnom Penh development.
The riverside is still the place to stroll or even exercise, and the surrounding countryside is lovely, with nice views from some of the higher locations.
I ate at the homes of Khmer friends, and we had driven up from PP, so getting around was as easy/difficult as any journey on overcrowded Cambodian roads!

Not one of the top travel spots yet.
Not one of the top travel spots yet. Battambang town doesn't stand out as anything special compared to other places in Cambodia. It doesn't really have anything special, and is very dusty all around.
However, it is ideal for a day trip (max 2 nights) from Siem Reap if you have time.
There are unique experiences that are on the outskirts of town :
1/ Bamboo Train (touristy but still good enough. especially if you can manage to beat the tourist vans in the morning, then it's just you on the train (train ride is about 15 mins each way)
2/ Killing Caves (get there at about 4-430pm, stay for about 30 mins)
3/Bat cave (super cool experience, stay there only for about 30 mins max in the evening

Gave a good feeling of real-life in Cambodia, away from the tourist crowds. The town has a fine old french colonade along the river. Very beautiful. The local market is worth a visit.
Highly interesting are the temples in the surroundings, ex the Banan temple. A visit to some of the commemoration sites also outside the town showing the cruelty of the Khmer Rouge in the nineteen seventies, is a must not to forget what happended.

I homestayed with the O'hamok family - incredible real Cambodian experience. We toured at my pace, I have never experienced this level of relaxation throughout my travels. I only wished I could speak Khmer and or French so that I could have contributed more to conversations but we got by easily with english.
Best homestay in Cambodia so far!
Hospitality and friendliness of Esaro family couldn’t be overestimated. Even though I have came really late and without contacting Esaro about my arrival time I was warmly welcomed.
The homestay is close to the bat cave mountain and other attractions. Esaro also offers trips to more distant locations such as Banan Temple.
But be aware it is not a “five-star luxury hotel” and it is more on countryside.
The hotel was and felt like a little historic piece of Cambodia tucked away in a little niche and was comfortable in all respects. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The food, for the most part, was good and fresh. The linens were clean and comfortable. The prices of the dishes on the menu were also very reasonable.
All in all, I would not have an issue recommending this hotel for a few days or even a week to unwind.
Battambang is an interesting town but very busy and noisy . Coming back to Battambang resort after a tour is like arriving in an oasis of tranquility.
The resort is set in a beautiful garden . The swimming pool is huge with plenty of sun beds to relax . Food is delicious and they use a lot of their own grown vegetables. Staff are so friendly, smiling and helpful.
I will strongly recommend Battambang Resort.
The owners were so friendly and helpful! You can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at their place and they can cook very good, cheap prices as well. They really think with you about what to do in Battambang and they are willing to do anything for you! The room was not spectacular, but great to stay in, especially as we were gone the whole day and only slept and showered in the room.
Glorious historic building full of vintage furniture & decor. Feels a bit like being on a movie set. A beautiful nod to Cambodia's complicated past. Nakim the manager was so helpful. Ask him to call January the tuk tuk driver to show you around Battambang. We had a marvelous afternoon with him and learned so much along the way.
Very spacious rooms, steps away from 7/11 and Lucky Supermarket. My teens liked the pool table and even the indoor swimming pool. Super popular with backpackers. The Tuktuk guys outside the hotel are an excellent value to tour the surroundings. Our guy used to be a guide but costs a fraction of the organized tours.
Very friendly family run hotel in the middle of town. Big spacious room with massive comfy bed and very good AC and fan. Street is quiet as everything shuts down at midnight.
They can help you book trips and transfers and advertise some in reception.
Shower had really good pressure.
Oh Battambang, named after one of our favorite Sinsisamuth songs, is probably one of the most beautiful and comfortable hotels we’ve stayed at in Cambodia. Lovely design and architecture and the staff absolutely warm, friendly, and hospitable! They took such good care of us!
It’s a nice hideout from busy Battambang. The family is very friendly, but keep in mind that they can’t speak English. Furthermore, it’s just a yard behind a restaurant. So, no reception, swimming pool or anything else. However, the rooms are clean and nice.
The staff were so friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel to get out and explore Battambang. It's not too far from town by tuktuk. The rooms were big and the twin had a privacy curtain. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area.
Good location. Hotel provided an excellent tuktuk ride around Battambang to bamboo train, killing and bat caves. Hotel offered an upgrade to a bigger room for a small additional cost too. Room was very big and comfortable.
The hotel was very clean. The staffs were really friendly and accommodating. The rooms were really spacious and comfortable. Everything else was within an arms reach. There were many tasty restaurants close by.
Very nice hotel - we loved our stay and elected to have our evening meals there as great food, service, price and ambience. A little oasis where you can relax after sightseeing.
The hotel is a marvelous 1930s French colonial hotel. It has a fantastic garden with lush tropical plants and a lovely swimming pool. The staff and the food are both great.
Beautiful resort in the city but you feel like somewhere in the amazing garden. Great swimming pool, very good food, nice and helpful staff. Great value for money!
