We really loved the place. It is at the right spot , near the beach, restaurant and also 45min walking distance to the petroglyphs museum.
The shower and toilet are super clean. It is great to have a little kitchen to either cook or make coffee. We work online and we're able to work with the wifi, especially from the kitchen or the little table outside. I definitely recommend staying there .

I love everything about the property! The owner was very nice. She was very accommodating and very responsive. She waited for us to arrive even at 11PM. We only had 1 night because we needed to go to Karakol after. The guesthouse was located in a lovely neighborhood. You can see the beautiful mountains from the balcony of our room. 🥰🥰 they even have a beautiful garden where you can hangout with friends/family. Highly recommended!!!

My husband and I have visited Cholpon Ata six times from November 2020 until July 2021. We loved our stay during winter and spring. Summertime is not advised for those who wish to avoid crowds on yen beach and in the city center. We were fortunate to stay at Zaton Guesthouse- owners enjoyed preparing hefty breakfast for guests, charming garden perfect for yoga and taichi. We loved its close proximity to town center and the beach. The little Zaton Lake behind it was a bonus- perfect for quiet morning walk.

The town is a bit spread out if you are there without a vehicle. If you are not staying at a resort (and therefore need to get out for meals, etc.), just be aware that you may have to walk a distance to get to the center. There is a taxi stand in the center, near the historical museum, so that is a great resource for getting back at least!
The best restaurant was Barashek Terrace - good service, English menu, varied food options and tasty food. Bonus is that it's well-covered so it's nice and cool and out of the sun. There is also a nice ice cream truck outside. The shashlik at U-Rybaka was very good (especially the chicken) and I'm sure the Torro burger truck is good, too (Torro burgers in Bishkek are my favourite!).
I would recommend going down to the marina and going out on a boat trip. It is is 300 soms per person and about an hour long. It goes out into the lake so you get some great views and stops out so you can go for a dip! Very refreshing!

Cholpon-Ata has been a popular lakeside relax destination for over 50 years, but unfortunately had to go through a decay period following disintegration of USSR.
Present day Cholpon-Ata is a rebuilding and rejuvenating community geared at budget-smart visitors catering good hospitality at a reasonable price.
Lake Issyk-Kul features exceptional water with water cleanliness exceeding that of Adriatic Sea and Black Sea. Sandy beach line and mild, relatively dry climate ensure a soft relax, although much reinvestment is required to bring services back to the level anywhere close to that of USSR era.

Cholpon-ATA and surrounding have good public as well as private beaches. There is nothing much to see/do apart from spending time (relaxing) at beach and swimming in one of the best lake in the world.
The guesthouse is very quiet, on the very edge of Cholpon-Ata. Parking was possible near the guesthouse. Next to Zaton is the entrance to a beautiful park near the lake. The main street with shops/restaurants is about a 15 minute walk away. We had a room (nr. 4) with a balcony (with bench). Neat clean room, twin beds, airco, with separate bathroom. Good Wi-Fi. Some English was spoken by a younger person. The breakfast, which was well taken care of - very tasty was a large filled wrap - took place in a nice separate building in the garden.
Nice clean rooms with comfy beds. A lot of renovation has clearly taken plans and continues to, as they expand. But nothing disturbed us. The lake and beach are just a short 5 minute walk from the Guesthouse. The breakfast was a nice experience, too. We really felt like guests rather than customers. By the way, the pics don't make it clear, but we had the room with one king bed and two twins, and the twins are actually located in a separate bedroom, so the place feels more like an apartment than a hotel room. Highly recommend!

We had a late booking due to original booking being unfit for purpose, and staff were very helpful upon our arrival.
The place is like a holiday guest house not a hotel, and for this purpose it is excellent, as you can bring your own food to the tables and use the bar and restaurant also.
Bed is very comfortable, room is very spacious and well equiped( fridge tv, table etc..) everything you need is there, a kitchen is also avalaible and cosy places to eat and rest. The workers and family is very kind and helpful. They can speak english. The hotel is located near the lake and you can do everything by walk. We highly recommand this hotel!

The whole family running the guest house is extremely kind and generous. It was wonderful to be greeted every morning at breakfast by Madame's cheerful welcome and bright smile as she served a hearty breakfast. The location of the hotel is ideal - a few minutes walk to the bus station and a short walk to the town centre and the shores of the Issy-kul Lake.

Located right on the beach, it was perfect for enjoying the lake. It was also bright and airy which made you feel like the hotel was an extension of the beach. The adjoining restaurant was such a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the view with a good meal or drink.
Lovely hotel, with friendly staff and a comfortable room. Good facilities - hot water, a fridge, etc., and a quality breakfast for 250 KGS per person. Fantastic location as well, not far from the town centre, and a few minutes' walk from the beach!
I am starting regretting not to stay for more days even if the cold, barren winter is generally not a season for Cholpon-Ata, but the warm welcoming from Andrey and his family made up everything! I wish I will be back in the summer!

The location of this resort is excellent. The water is beautiful and the outdoor space is kept well. Green gardens and lawns for private villas. The staff at the hotel restaurant were always very pleasant.

It is very close to the lake and the main road. The Rukh museum is just nearby. The owner is very friendly and gave a lot of advice on what to do in Cholpon-Ata. And there is a very cute cat

Breakfast was very poor quality. It was open only for 2 hours from 8 to 10 am. Location of the hotel is great on the bank of Issykul Lake. But service is very bad.
