Archers Post is convenient for three cool reserves but it's remote so bring your own snacks and an emergency medical kit. The sun is brutal and the air is dry. We all got sun sickness and dehydration even though we used sunscreen, drank a lot of water and stayed in the shade. Nearest petrol station is 35 km away. Plan carefully. Don't forget your ID.

Archer's Post is just a convenient and low cost option if you are going to Samburu National Reserve, which is a hidden gem. The accommodation inside Samburu can be prohibitively expensive and so staying outside the park can be an attractive option. There's not much in Archer's Post other than as a quiet place to stay for Samburu.
