Very nice and helpful staff. However, like all Sado, prepare that communication works only in Japanese.

This feels like you’re staying in someone’s home they’ve designed perfectly for themselves to be cosy and comfy and happy, and now you get to stay in it. Beautiful eclectic house and garden, we had a wonderful stay.

The room was very large by Japanese standards and the bathroom (the Japanese 'ofuro') was just huge. The manager was super nice and helpful, but there are a few things to understand about the place.
1) This is a "Love hotel" (=short-stay motel for couples), so not everyone will feel comfortable staying there.
2) The window in the room is tightly sealed. You can't open it or see outside.
3) You definitely need a car or bike to go anywhere. The hotel is quite isolated.
This place is heaven. Absolutely beautiful, amazing location, great people . I travelled together with my 3yrs old son and everything was just perfect. We planned to stay 3 nights but eventually stayed 7. The owner and the staff were amazing. They really made us feel like we are among friends and family. Thank you for that. I hope it was not our last time in Sado and this beautiful place.
The property is exactly as described - a very old traditional Japanese house. It was lovely to stay here and feel the life of this tiny village. The property was clean and easy to manage including being able to cook and wash clothes. It is a beautiful quiet location that is easy to walk around and easy to explore Sado Island from here (with a car).
The hostel is Japanese style, with futons on the floor, low tables, seating on the floor, and shared kitchen and bathroom facilities (everything spotlessly clean). If you are looking for a typical, western-style hotel, this might not be for you but if you are looking to experience Japanese hospitality, this hostel does everything right.
This place was wonderful. I really loved the comfy beds, the music selection and location was incredible. It is just 20 minutes from Sado Gold Mine and Sado popular bays. The host is very kind and he will help you to arrange anything you could need so do not hesitate to ask him about your stay in Sado.
