Great location and clean for a fairly old hotel. Right on the Norikura side of the slopes. Ski out the a chair lift. This is where the locals go, so nice experience and very friendly staff with good facilities for skiing including ski locker near exit to slopes.

Loved that the slopes were literally across the street and we could snowboard straight down to the ski lifts. The amenities were clean, and the lodge was super cosy. The host cooked us amazing breakfasts and helped us out when we needed to get in touch with the ski schools.

Came to Tsugaike alone for my snowboard instructor course. Enjoyed my stay in this cozy and quiet guesthouse, it is conveniently located under the "Bell slope", and only a 5 minute walk to the gondola on the other side of resort. The facility is clean and got everything I need especially the public bath and free washing machine which are essential for my long stay. Expect to meet the friendly Japanese family with their English speaking owner. You can choose to be served with homemade breakfast and dinner with variations everyday. Overall it is a good value for my long stay.

One of my favorite ski resorts in all of Japan is in Otari!!
One of my favorite ski resorts in all of Japan is in Otari!! Tsugaike Kogen. Gorgeous nature, awesome slopes, lots of shops nearby and the ski resort's infrastructure is great!! And you can stay at Hotel La Vista, the best place to stay around Tsugaike, right in front of the lifts.

It is a small village.
It is a small village. There are only a few restaurants to choose from, so if you stayed here a week you would need a car or to take a taxi to eat at some new restaurants. It is close to the Taugaike gondola. We liked skiing Tsugaike and Iwatake because there were nice long runs without moguls connected to high speed lifts. I might stay in Exholand or near Happo-One and then plan on busing to either of these resorts. I’m an intermediate skier, but older and do not care for mogul skiing or real extreme conditions.

Otari is a great place to Ski, Snowboarding and some hiking.
Otari is a great place to Ski, Snowboarding and some hiking. It is prepared to receive foreign people since almost everywhere you can speak English (I am assuming that Chinese as well since I heard a lot of Chinese in the streets).
It is next to Hakuba, you can find good powder snow and different levels of skiing resort.
Literally EVERYTHING about this place was fantastic! We are an American family who has taken dozens of overseas trips, and this has to be the friendliest, most professional staff we have ever encountered. The degree of ease that Ski Inn Hakuba makes for a ski/snowboard vacation cannot be overstated. Amazing rooms, amazing facilities, great food options at the hotel or a short walk into town, ski instructors will pick you up from your doorstep, private parking — it has it all. Book with confidence. We will absolutely be coming back.
Great location at the base of Cortina ski resort - the nearest ski lift is 30 seconds away from the hotel.
The rooms are huge - very generous size.
Buffet breakfast and. dinner are well worth the price, great selection of food and drink.
Luggage lockers/ski storage is available prior to checking in: JPY600
Ski lockers are only available once you have checked in (after 1500).
The shop in the lobby sells snacks, drinks, souvenirs and basic toiletries.
- Amazing location, ski right to the front door, always the first ride of the day
- Our host Jason, incredibly hospitable, sorts out all your lift passes for a discount, drives you to wherever you need, all round amazing friendly guy
- The apartment is just gorgeous, we stayed for a week for our honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for a nicer place, comfy bed, kitchenette and beautifully styled. much better option than a hotel.
Ski slope is just behind. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Exceptional staff, the main person behind cohnter (forgot his name) is the best you can get, very helpful very understanding very welcoming. We had 2 incidents, left bag on train and a sprained elbow...the hotel staff are very helpful, mindful and welcoming. We felt indebted. Dont mind staying there again next winter.
All in one accomodation, has 2 very good restaurants inside. Free shuttle bus that takes you anywhere around the area. Very good continental breakfast. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Ski gear rental place reception inside that will organise to take you and back to the fitting place. Can just leave equipment if you hire with Rythm at the hotel’s boot room.
Loved the location with how close the parking was to the hotel, and from the hotel to the ski lifts. The drying room made it very easy for all of the gear to be ready the next day. Since it is a relatively new hotel, some taxi services didn’t know where it was, but the staff were happy to help with any translation or reservation making.
Location amazing, close to Tsugaike gondola. It's a good idea to choose here instead of Happo One since buses from train station run frequently and stop nearby. The hotel has a cozy restaurant with delicacies made with local ingredients. Room was simple but had everything you need for a snow trip, including a unit bath
No frills hotel super close to the slope. Comfortable beds, decent breakfast (for an extra fee). A really traditional, old and basic place to stay. But if you’re spending all day on the slopes and the evening at a restaurant then it’s fine.
Our stay at the hotel was very good, nice staffs, the hotel is under new management, we spoke with the new owner in the morning during breakfast, he is planning many good things for the hotel, definitely we will come back again.
Amazingly clean. Friendly staff and the best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel!
Genuine professional hosts who welcomed us and made the stay great. Facilities were excellent - drying room was perfect.
Location is great for skiers, rooms are clean and very spacious for a family of 3. Hotel staffs speaks English and were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is basic but good enough.
Great location within metres of Tsugaike gondola and bus stops. Nice onsen/public baths and sauna at the hotel. The room was very clean. Private but very small bathroom.
We love the location of this hotel. Breakfast is good. Staff is friendly. Stayed here last year and had a better experience than this time. Was disappointed this year.
Well located, lots to do without going out, free bus pick up and drop off, also shuttle to other resorts and evening shuttle to and from hotel was very convenient
It is a nicely renovated hotel and the staff was very friendly. I was the only guest staying that night so they upgraded my room. Lots of breakfast options
