The house is absolutely wonderful, it seems to come out from anime!! Personally I had it all for myself, but it's so big it's great also for families!
Yukie-San, the owner, was so welcoming and went above and beyond to help me in every possible way, from the amenities, to local gifts, to tips where to eat, what to try and experience.
She even helped me with the links and maps positions of so many places and was always quick at answering!
I promise you'll feel at home here and won't regret staying here even if it's just for a couple of nights!

Only stayed here one night, and thought it would be more interesting to stay here instead of Fukui city. It's only 1 bus ride to the dinosaur museum (...and some extra walking. Or just 2 bus rides). The lady who helped me checked in was extremely friendly, and it was only me and one other person staying there at the time. It was very quiet, especially the neighbourhood. Very clean, rustic, and comfortable to stay at. It's a very small town with little to do, but given the oppurtunity, I would stay here again.

Such a hidden gem especially for foreigners who might not think to visit the more rural parts of Japan, but it is easy to get to via train from Fukui city which can be reached by bus or train from tokyo or osaka/kyoto. Riding the provided bicycles around town was a great experience.

The dinosaur theme was a huge hit among our kids. The rooms were spacious and tidy. We also enjoyed the Onsen as well as the excellent breakfast buffet.
Its location is great for the Dino Park and the temple.

The staff was absolutely lovely. They keep the shared kitchen stocked with eggs and they gift you bread and drinks in the room refrigerator. They were so nice and my family had a lot of fun with the numerous dinosaur toys, puzzles, and decorations.

I think Ono is a lovely small town with extremely friendly...
I think Ono is a lovely small town with extremely friendly people. Ｗhen you go climbing to the castle, people say hi as they walk by (which is pretty rare in Japan in my opinion). When you go visit the morning market, the obachan starts to chat with you about their lives and families.
The water in Ono is one of the best in Japan. Therefore everything I tried has been super tasty (soba, soy katsudon, sake, wine, dango, coffee, rice...literaily everything.). If you are a foodie, I recommend to make it a two or three day trips at least cuz there's no way to try everything in a day😆
