We had 2 nights in Kyoto and stayed in a Japanese style room as a family of 5. This room has the fold out beds on the floors which was perfectly fine for our 2 nights. The bar and restaurant at the hotel has free sake tasting, The foyer at the hotel had a free water and coffee station for guests as well as a well stocked toy area for little kids which really helped when our 2 year old needed to have a play. The check in process was easy and the front staff was very friendly and helpful with giving us a map.

Super nice hotel and very good location! We also liked the fact that in the price we had included free use of the public baths, which really gave you the Japanese experience! We forgot our Smart Band at the hotel and stuff informed us right away. Unfortunately they couldn't ship it to another hotel where we were staying at and they couldn't ship it to EU, so we never got it back, but this is our fault for forgetting it there so just keep in mind to check again all the corners hehehe. As a foreigner the only option is to travel back to Kyoto and retrieve your items

The size of the room was above average in Japan. Especially the bathroom. It's definitely possible to take a bath. In the lobby they even offer free bath salt. In winter time I would definitely take a bath. The AC was working the entire time. Even when I was nit at the hotel. So when you came back during summer time, the room was nice and cool.
Laundry was also no problem. There is a program which offers washing and drying at the same time.
The location was good as well. Very close to Kyoto central station and close to a bus stop to get to the city quick. It was about 2.3km from the center. I always walked home in the evening.
I would definitely stay there again. The stuff was also very friendly and helpful.
