Wonderful stay at this temple, outside of time. My room was spacious and very beautiful, right next to the prayer room of the temple. The futon was comfortable and the food really good both at dinner and breakfast. The priest welcomed me and walked me to the tomb of the master of Minobu, and also helped me to explain how to participate in the morning prayers at the main hall. I wish I could have stayed there for a few days.

Amazing atmosphere, super clean and spacious rooms. We learned a lot about Buddhism and the chief monk Ken and his family were so very nice and welcoming. They explained a lot about history, Buddhism and gave us great recommendations about walking around - definitely the highlight of our trip in Japan so far! Food was super authentic too. An advice - take a taxi from the station, it’s not expensive and the road is super steep. Also go to the morning prayer.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very hospitable and warm. We were greeted by Mt Fuji every morning at breakfast, a great way to start the day. Lots of hiking trails and water activities within minutes of the hotel. The indoor/outdoor onsen is divine. Would definitely stay again.
