We booked the quadruple room.  It was stunningly beautiful in design, respecting the ancient fabric of the old building but somehow capturing a luxury experience with all the details to make our stay comfortable. Akiko san and the team were incredible, always there for us, and going out of their way to help however possible and cooking up amazing breakfasts each morning - the toast is divine. I just can't capture how amazing and unique this experience is - beautiful room, amazing food, amazing staff. Tamba sasayama itself felt like we had stepped back in time 200 years.. visiting the castle ruins made it all  the more magical. Thank you, Oito ! True to pictures, our stay at Shigura Wood Villa for a group of 4 adults and an infant was unparalleled! Naoto-san received us upon arrival to walk us through the facilities/ house rules and, was extremely prompt with his responses and assistance via the booking platform's chat function (prior to and during the trip). The villa was also spotless and contained professional kitchen equipment which motivated us to home-cook our meals! Even rain couldn't dampen our moods as the villa's interior was so lovely. We're truly grateful for the kind hospitality as first international guests of the villa and look forward to visiting again!
